Amsterdam - Belgium - Luxembourg Singles Tour Itinerary

Day 1- Depart Your Hometown

Your singles vacation begins when get onboard your overnight flight to Amsterdam. Plan your flight to arrive the following morning. Remember you fly home from the opposite city!

Day 2 - Arrive Amsterdam

Arrive in Amsterdam and take your shuttle to our hotel. Meet all your new singles travel friends as you are greeted in the lobby by your hostess at 3:00pm.

What better way to begin the Netherlands then on a cruise along Amsterdam’s picture-book canals… it’s something not to be missed! Be amazed by the beautiful views of the canals and bridges, merchant's houses, 17th century gables, houseboats and the old harbour.

Tonight enjoy our Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3- Amsterdam

Morning walking tour through the history of Amsterdam, from its start as a muddy village on the River Amstel to becoming the most important trading city in Europe. From the wild history of prostitution and drug decriminalization, to the tragedy of Anne Frank's story and Nazi occupation. View the magnificent houseboats and homes that dot the canal banks, along with the usual parade of bicyclers. Stroll around the historical centre as our guide exposes us to over 800 years of "Amsterdam" culture.

Afternoon free to visit one of the many museums or to stroll the narrow streets.

Day - 4 - Amsterdam

We leave the city behind as we visit the magnificent Dutch county side north of Amsterdam, marked by windmills, dikes and ditches. After a stop to taste some traditionally made products at a cheese farm, we will visit the picturesque villages Edam and Zaanse Schans, famous for its collection of wooden windmills. The windmills are all still in use and offer a glimpse of Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries when thousands of windmills were lined along the dykes and powered the Dutch economy. Here you have a chance to explore one of the mills that still perform various functions including a saw mill, a paint mill (grinding pigments), and oil mill (grinding linseed or peanuts to draw off the oil). You will also get the chance to visit a wooden shoemaker to learn how clogs are made.

Afterwards, our tour continues to the renowned fishing villages of Volendam and Marken, where we see traditional Dutch wooden houses and locals still wear traditional colourful dress. A twenty minute boat trip takes us between the two villages with free time in either Volendam and Marken allowing you to explore and shop.

Day - 5 - Amsterdam - Delft - The Hague

This morning we take the highway to Delft, with its well preserved 17th century town centre. Visit one of the famous Delft blue potteries, Delftse Pauw. The blue-and-white pottery became famous as a 17th-century duplicate of Chinese porcelain.

From Delft our tour continues to The Hague, former capital of the Netherlands, passing such famous sites as the Houses of Parliament, Peace Palace and the Binnenhof. Although The Hague (Den Haag) is no longer the capital, no-one seems to have told either the Royal Family or the Government, both are located here.

The final highlight of the day is a visit to the famous miniature town of Madurodam. The canal houses of Amsterdam, the Alkmaar cheese market and parts of the Delta Works are all replicated in minute detail on a 1:25 scale. Windmills turn, ships sail through the harbor and trains travel across the city on the world's largest miniature railway.

Day - 6 - Amsterdam to Brussels

After breakfast and a morning of leisure it is time to transfer to the railroad station for our afternoon train to Brussels. Walk across the street and check in to our centrally located hotel.

Afternoon city tour of Brussels, the capital of Belgium and the administrative center of the European Union. Brussels is enhanced by picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments, spacious parks, cozy cafés, interesting restaurants and an active cultural life. See the world-famous market square, glance at the remarkable city hall and discover the secrets of Belgium chocolates. Sit back and relax as you soak in the historic highlights of Belgium's culture capital.

Day 7 - Ghent and Bruges Day Trip

No visit to Belgium is complete without a visit to Ghent and Bruges, just a short train ride from Brussels. These two cities are steeped in artistic history.

After a quick ride through the scenic Belgium countryside we arrive in Ghent, a showcase of medieval Flemish wealth & commercial success containing awesome architecture. Cathedral, church, & belfry towers pierce the sky, filling the air with the music of their bells. Beside ancient harbours, ornate guild houses line the banks. Street markets flourish as in previous centuries.

Next we drive through the Flemish countryside to the historic city of Bruges, probably one of the prettiest medieval towns in Europe, famous for its churches, Begijnhof, lace factories and fantastic shopping areas. Upon visiting Bruges, you will immediately notice that this city has always carefully cherished its architectural and artistic treasures from the past.

Day 8 - Antwerp

Spend the morning in Antwerp, Belgium's second largest city on Europe's largest harbor, home to painter Peter Paul Rubens, world famous master of the 17th century.

70% of all the world diamonds are now traded in Antwerp, Europe’s new hot spot. Discover the city of diamonds and visit a diamond workshop. Learn about the world-famous Grand Place with its unique city hall and magnificent guild houses. See the incredible St. Michael's Cathedral, the Congress Column, and the Heizeldistrict with its renowned Atomium.

Enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Belgium.

Day 9 Belgium - Luxembourg

We leave the country of Belgium on this full-day tour to explore the country of Luxembourg.

We board our early morning train to Luxembourg and watch the Belgium countryside go by.

Upon arrival we walk to the old town where we meet our local guide. Our walking sightseeing tour will take us through the capital of the Grand-Duchy, Luxembourg-Ville, which is split into two districts: the delightful old center (a UNESCO Site), complete with fortress towers, turrets and winding, cobblestone streets; and the modern downtown area on the Plâteau du Kirchberg.

Upon returning to Brussels we will have our Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10 - Brussels - Tour Ends

Sad to say but our singles tour has come to an end. After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to all your new singles travel buddies as we make our way to the airport and our flights home.
