Vacation Day 1: Thursday / Dec 09, 2027 USA - Germany, Europe
Leave the USA and fly to Germany today. Please book a flight landing in Munich before 1:00 PM on December 10, 2027. If a pre-night hotel is necessary we can help arrange that for you.

Vacation Day 2: Friday / Dec 10, 2027 Arrival to Munich - Rothenburg ob der Tauber (3 nights)
After you land at Munich international airport and collect your luggage, you will be met by your tour manager in the arrival hall. You will load the bus with your luggage and depart Munich for Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Ob der means above and it is important as it distinguishes this particular UNESCO-protected town of Rothenburg from several other nondescript Rothenburgs. Ob der Tauber means above the river Tauber. When you arrive to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, you will check into your hotel and walk into the Old Town to enjoy it and have lunch on your own. Tonight we will enjoy our welcome dinner in the Old Town. After dinner you will be invited to join the famous Night Watchman’s walking tour to become acquainted with the Middle Ages and Rothenburg’s very interesting history through the eyes of a night watchman. After the Night Watchman’s tour, you will be ready to fall asleep in this charming medieval German town.

Vacation Day 3: Saturday / Dec 11, 2027 Rothenburg ob der Tauber
After a buffet breakfast at your hotel, you will have today to enjoy Rothenburg ob der Tauber with its wonderful Christmas markets, churches and museums. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is Germany’s best preserved medieval walled-in town on the Romantic Road. In the Middle Ages when Munich and Berlin were just small spots on the road, Rothenburg was already Germany’s second largest city with a population of 6000 inhabitants. St. Jakob's Church contains the one must-see art treasure in Rothenburg: a glorious 500-year-old altarpiece by Tilman Riemenschneider, the Michelangelo of German woodcarvers. Rothenburg is one of Germany's best shopping towns. Do it here, mail it home, and be done with it. Lovely prints, carvings, wine glasses, Christmas-tree ornaments, and beer steins are popular. The biggest ornament shop has an excellent little German Christmas Museum upstairs. Its unique collection is much more than a ploy to get you to spend more money. You'll get a look at tree decorations through the ages, Christmas-tree stands,mini-trees sent in boxes to WWI soldiers at the front, early Advent calendars, and old-time Christmas cards, all thoughtfully arranged and described. You will find plenty of eateries in the Old Town and at the Christmas markets for lunch. The Gluhwein (hot wine), punch, grilled sausages and more are all waiting for you there.
Optional Wine Tasting Adventure: Wurzburg is a the 6th largest city in Bavaria, located on the river Main among the famous Franconian vineyards in the Low Franconia region (Unterfranken). It is a beautiful 18th-century Baroque city with a stone bridge featuring statues and its Archbishopric Residence, which has been a UNESCO-protected heritage site since 1981. The wine-tasting takes place in the oldest winery in the city called the Burgerspital Winery. It is a wine estate in Franconia with a 700-year-old tradition. On their 120 hectares of vineyards they cultivate their traditional wine varieties such as Silvaner, Riesling and wines from Pinot varieties. All the best wines are rebottled in their iconic Bocksbeutel. Their main heritage are their vineyards such as Wurzburg Stein, Stein - Berg and the Stein - Harfe. ($75 USD)

Vacation Day 4:  Sunday / Dec 12, 2027 Rothenburg ob der Tauber
After breakfast enjoy a full day at the Christmas markets, sightseeing and shopping in Rothenburg obder Tauber. Visit Käthe Wohlfahrt, the massive flagship Christmas store and the German Christmas Museum for year-round holiday magic. Try a Schneeballen (snowball), a traditional pastry made of rolled dough strips dusted in powdered sugar or coated in chocolate.

Vacation Day 5: Monday / Dec 13, 2027 Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Munich (3 nights)
After a buffet breakfast you will load luggage on the bus and depart from Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Munich. Upon arrival in Munich, you will have some free time for lunch on your own. In the early afternoon you will join a walking tour of the Old Town with our local guide. You will see the most important highlights of Munich Old Town such as Marienplatz (Mary’s square) with the New City hall and its world famous Glockenspiel (Clock). You will also pass historic churches like Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady), whose bell towers represent a symbol of the city of Munich. After the city tour you will check into the hotel and in the evening your tour manager will take you an included dinner.

Vacation Day 6: Tuesday / Dec 14, 2027 Munich
After the buffet breakfast at the hotel you will have a free day in Munich to enjoy the Christmas markets in the Old Town. Lunch and dinner are on your own today. Munich’s name is derived from the word monks - moniker, who were the first settlers here in a small Roman Catholic monastery by the river Isar in the 12th century. Munich (German: München, Bavarian: Minga) is the capital and largest city of Bavaria, Germany, located on the River Isar north of the Alps. Known for its rich history, beer culture (Oktoberfest), and as a major economic hub, it is the third-largest city in Germany, recognized for its high quality of life. The city has two research universities and many scientific institutions. Munich is known for its architecture, cultural venues, sporting events, exhibitions, and the annual Oktoberfest, the world's largest Volksfest. Multinational companies such as BMW, Siemens, Allianz SE, and Munich Re are headquartered there. There are many museums and art galleries worth visiting, too such as Pinakotheks - Pinakothek der Moderne, the
Alte Pinakothek, the Neue Pinakothek and the Deutsches Museum.

Vacation Day 7: Wednesday / Dec 15, 2027 Munich - Neuschwanstein Castle - Munich
After buffet breakfast you will depart Munich for Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian countryside, which is the most visited castle in Bavaria and regarded as the model for Walt Disney’s castle logo. It was built by Ludwig II, who ruled Bavaria in the second half of the 19th century. By the time Ludwig II became king of Bavaria in 1864, he remained mostly aloof from his capital of Munich and focused more on his fanciful castles in the Bavarian countryside, which is why he is known the world over as the 'fairytale king'. After the arrival there you will have some time to grab a snack and in the early afternoon you will visit this famous castle on a guided tour in English. After the guided tour inside of the castle, you will get back to the bus and depart back to Munich. Dinner will be on your own in Munich.

Vacation Day 8: Thursday / Dec 16, 2027 Munich - Salzburg, Austria (3 nights)
After buffet breakfast you will load luggage on the bus and depart from Munich to Salzburg. When you arrive to Salzburg, you will have lunch on your own and after the lunch break you will enjoy the walking tour of the Old Town of Salzburg with a local guide in English. After the city tour you will check into your hotel and relax. In the evening you will have dinner provided in Salzburg. Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria with about 150000 inhabitants. It lies on the river Salzach. In the old days it was in the hands of Princes Archbishops and became very rich thanks to the trade with the white gold - salt.

Vacation Day 9: Friday / Dec 17, 2027 Salzburg
After buffet breakfast included at your hotel, you will have a free day to enjoy the Christmas markets in the Old Town of Salzburg. Lunch and dinner today are on your own. The town occupies the site of the Roman settlement of Iuvavum. Founded as an episcopal seat in 696, it became a seat of the archbishop in 798. Its main sources of income were salt extraction, trade, as well as gold mining. The fortress of Hohensalzburg, one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe, dates from the 11th century. In the 17th century, Salzburg became a centre of the Counter-Reformation, and numerous Baroque churches and monasteries were built. Salzburg has an extensive cultural and educational history, being the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and being home to three universities and a large student population. Today, along with Vienna and the Tyrol, Salzburg is one of Austria's most popular tourist destinations. Salzburg's historic center (German: Altstadt) is renowned for its Baroque architecture and is one of the best-preserved city
centers north of the Alps. The historic center was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.

Vacation Day 10: Saturday / Dec 18, 2027 Salzburg - Hallein - Salzburg
After buffet breakfast you will depart Salzburg to a town of Hallein famous for its cosy well preserved Old Town and a museum dedicated to Franz Xaver Gruber, who composed music for the most famous Christmas carol - Silent Night, Holy Night in 1818. After your arrival there, you will visit this lovely small museum. After the museum’s visit you will have some free time to enjoy the Old Town of Hallein. Then you will be invited by your tour manager to celebrate together the end of the tour at the farewell lunch in Hallein. After the farewell lunch you will depart Hallein to Salzburg. The rest of the afternoon and evening will be on your own to enjoy Salzburg in the evening, pack all your things and get ready to go home on the next day.
