Hawaii Islands New Year's Singles Cruise Itinerary

HonoluluCruise Day 1: Honolulu, Oahu (Saturday: December 26, 2020 / Departure 7:00pm)
The big, blue Pacific and stunning Koolau mountains serve as a dramatic setting for Hawaii's largest and capital city, Honolulu, on Oahu’s south shore, The Waikiki neighborhood is its center for nightlife and shopping, famed for its iconic crescent beach backed by palm trees and high-rise hotels, with volcanic Diamond Head looming in the distance. Sites relating to the World War II attack on Pearl Harbor include the USS Arizona Memorial. Catch a glimpse of history by visiting Pearl Harbor and the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

Cruise Day 2: Kahului, Maui (Sunday: December 27, 2019 / 8:00am - )
Road to HanaMaui, an island in the mid-Pacific is part of the Hawaiian island chain known for beach resorts, diverse geography and outdoor activities ranging from hiking and biking to windsurfing and snorkeling. Sprawling Haleakala National Park encompasses the island’s highest peak, Mt. Haleakala, as well as the pools and waterfalls of Oheo Gulch, accessed via scenic, winding Hana Highway.
Included Shore Excursion - Road to Hana (9 hours) - Take the drive around a beautiful region of the “Magic Isle” of Maui and view some of the most scenic spots found on any of the Hawaiian Islands. As we travel along on our 68-mile trip, our driver will narrate along the way. There are more than 600 curves in the road to Hana. We’ll weave through the surrounding forest and cross a total of 59 bridges while making our waywaterfalls Maui along the eastern coast of the island. It does take time to navigate the route, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the lush landscape as it passes by your window. Keanae Valley Lookout and Waianapanapa State Park provide grand views of the ocean and surrounding hills. We’ll see Wailua Falls, Puuohokomoa Falls, Waikani Falls, and the Ohea Stream and Pools, fascinating natural elements that add to the serenity of the landscape. We’ll also pass Hookipa Beach, famous for its great windsurfing. Once we reach the town of Hana we’ll have some time to take in all the charm of this sleepy, rural village.


Cruise Day 3: Kahului, Maui (Monday December 28, 2020 / - 6:00pm)

Explore the fascinating history of the town of Lahaina. Plant yourself on a pristine beach, or play one of the world's most beautiful golf courses.
Included Shore Excursions - Molokini Turtle Snorkel Adventure (6 1/2 hours) or Iao Valley & Maui Tropical Plantation Tram Tour (5 hours)
Visit two of Maui’s most beautiful and popular attractions on the Iao Valley and Tropical Plantation tour. Our cruise excursion begins with a guided drive to Iao Valley State Park. Here, we see a Maui icon, the Iao Needle, a 2,250 foot cinder cone pinnacle that dominates the surrounding lush terrain. Enjoy a walk in the park and take in the impressive views of the valley and beyond. Then visit one of Maui’s most interesting sites: The Maui Tropical Plantation. Take a 35-minute narrated tram tour through fruit fields and flower orchards. View fields of coffee, bananas, macadamia nuts, papayas, mangoes, orchids, and more as the tropical aromas lure you through the plantation. Your guide stops along the way for a coconut husking demonstration and photo opportunities. After the tram tour, walk through beautifully landscaped gardens.
Molokini Turtle Snorkel AdventureMolokini Turtle Snorkel Adventure ($70 extra) - Disembark our ship for this exceptional cruise excursion where we take a ride on the on a two-stop snorkel cruise! Discover the waters off of Maui as we sail to our first stop in the waters around Molokini, a volcanic cinder cone that has eroded over the years and now is a Marine Life Conservation District Seabird Sanctuary. Just three miles off the shores of Maui, it is a world-class dive location. Look for brightly colored tropical fish and perhaps monk seals, whale sharks, manta rays, and harmless white tip sharks. The second location is along the Makena/Wailea coastline, Keawala’i, where numerous green sea turtles can be spotted. Swim with our local sea life and enjoy a fun day.


Cruise Day 4: Hilo, Hawaii (Tuesday: December 29, 2020 / 8:00am - 6:00pm)
hilo volcano parkThe entire city of Hilo is like one giant greenhouse with spectacular tropical flowers at every turn. Visit the town's well-preserved historic buildings, which date back to the turn of the century and showcase Hawaii's unique architecture. Just 30 miles away the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the home of the active Kilauea Volcano.
Included Shore Excursion - Volcanoes Nat'l Park & Rainbow Falls Tour (6.5 hours) - Visit the most famous attraction in Hawaii, Volcanoes National Park. We will drive through the 11 mile Crater Rim that circles Kilauea’s summit and stop along the way to experience firsthand the wonder and unique beauty of a volcano. View smooth and jagged lava, lava tubes, sulfur banks and bleak desert areas. Then we take a short walk through a rain forest path leading to the famed Thurston Lava rainbow fallsTube, a natural wonder unique to Hawaii. Visit the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum to view videos of volcanic eruptions, geologic displays, and working seismic equipment relating to the adjacent Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. Oval-shaped Kilauea Caldera is 2 to 2.5 miles across and about 400 feet deep in some places. Within this caldera is Halema’uma’u Crater, where you can smell brimstone and hear steam hissing out of fissures in the rock.
After the park we will explore more of Hilo’s surroundings, including Akatsuka Orchid Nursery and Rainbow Falls – a tropical rainforest wonder. Plus, Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory and gift shop.

 

Cruise Day 5: Kona, Hawaii (Wednesday: December 30, 2020 / 7:00am - 5:30pm)
Puuhonua O Honaunau ParkKona offers the quintessential Hawaii experience. Sunny, warm weather and crystal blue waters entice visitors to partake in a variety of surfside fun. Snorkel amongst a kaleidoscope of tropical marine life. Take a surfing lesson, a kayaking trip or head out to deeper waters for some deep-sea fishing.

Kona Historic Tour
- Travel back in time at Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park – an ancient Hawaiian village of refuge for kapu (law) breakers. Enjoy a beautiful scenic view overlooking Kealakekua Bay – an underwater preserve and a monument to Captain Cook. Visit the Painted Church, a tiny church Belgian priests Kona snorkelpainted to be a grand cathedral. Of course we have to visit the Kona coffee factory.
Kona Snorkel Rafting Adventure ($70 extra) - Get up close and personal with the coastline and marine life of the Big Island with this state of the art and environmentally friendly rafting adventure. Come along as experienced captains and crews lead us to discover the awe-inspiring natural beauty of Hawaii. Enjoy snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay, sea cave and lava tube exploration by raft, and friendly narration of Hawaii’s history and folklore. This is definitely a wet and wild adventure that you won’t want to miss!

 

Cruise Day 6: Nawiliwili, Kauai (Thursday: December 31, 2020 / 8:00am - ) New Year's Eve
Wailua River cruiseNawiliwili, Kauai is really the name of the harbor rather than the name of a town, located on the south-east coast of the island of Kauai.. The port lies outside of Lihue, the main town on Kauai. While the port resides in Nawiliwili Bay, so does Kalapaki Beach
Included Shore Excursion - Wailua River Cruise & Luau (7 hours) - Take a leisurely cruise down the Wailua River to the botanical beauty of the Fern Grotto. Here, the “Hawaiian Wedding Song”, a natural match in this lush environment. The overlook at Opaekaa Falls, a 151–foot waterfall that flows over basalt from Hawaii Germaines Luauvolcanic eruptions. Enjoy the views of Hawaiian plants, trees, and flowers on this nature cruise of Wailua River. 
Then enjoy a one-of-a-kind luau experience for dinner featuring the best of traditional Hawaiian dishes and local favorites as well as entertainment highlighting Polynesian culture. Experience Polynesia through song and dance of different cultures. Watch the torch lighting ceremony, hula dancing, and fire knife dances. Set in an oceanfront location the buffet offers authentic Hawaiian food and local favorites.

Cruise Day 7: Nawiliwili, Kauai (Friday: January 1, 2021 / - 2:00pm)
Kalapaki BeachNamed after the Wiliwili trees, which once lined its picturesque harbor, this lovely port of Kauai is your gateway to what many believe to be Hawaii's most beautiful island. On "The Garden Island," nature is truly the star, from the dramatic mountains of Kokee to the cool rain forests of Haena. And the tradition of the luau adds lively entertainment unique to Hawaii.
Included Shore Excursion - Kalapaki Beach (3 hours) - is a great beach for swimming, learning to surf, boogie boarding and stand up paddle boarding. We will walk less than half a mile to Kalapaki Bay which fronts the Kauai Marriott Beach Resort. The beach is partially protected from the open ocean by a large break wall. It is a nice beach for relaxing, sunbathing, picking up a game of beach volleyball or simply watching the outrigger canoes and visiting cruise ships come and go out of Nawiliwili Harbor.

 

King KamehamehaCruise Day 8: Honolulu, Oahu (Saturday: January 2, 2021 / Disembark at 7:00am)
At 7am the Pride of America returns to Honolulu, Oahu. Be sure to gather those emails to keep in touch with your new lifelong friends, and don't forget to plan ahead for your next singles vacation or cruise! If you are departing after 5:30pm (domestic flight) take the Honolulu City Tour ($35) with transfer to the airport. View Honolulu’s historic sites such as Iolani Palace, the pride of the Hawaiian Monarchy, the statue of King Kamehameha, Punchbowl National Cemetery and the USS Arizona Memorial. Honolulu’s historic. Then you will be transferred to the Honolulu International Airport.
