Cruise Day 2: Le Havre (Paris), France  (Friday: October 11, 2024 / 6:00am - 7:00pm)
Mont St MichelLe Havre is a major port in northern France's Normandy region, where the Seine River meets the English Channel. It's joined to the city across the estuary, Honfleur, by the Pont de Normandie cable-stayed bridge. Following WWII, Le Havre's heavily damaged city center was famously redesigned by Belgian architect Auguste Perret. Today it features many landmark examples of reinforced-concrete architecture.
Included Shore Excursion: Mont St Michel Visit
 - Enjoy the French countryside as we travel from the port of Le Harve to Mont St Michel. So worth the 2 1/2 hour drive as Mont-Saint-Michel is one of Europe’s most unforgettable sights and will take your breath away.. Built between the 11th and 16th centuries, it is set in the mesmerizing bay where Normandy and Brittany merge. Rising hundreds of feet above a rocky islet amidst vast sandbanks exposed to powerful tides stands a Gothic Benedictine abbey surrounded by a medieval village.
We will have a few hours to explore the village and Mont St Michel's surrounding views. There are many things to see including museums, churches and the spectacular Abbey (10 Euro). The climb up to the Mont Saint-Michel is considerable: the pathway leading to the top is steep, narrow and cobblestoned and there is a lot of stairs, especially when going to the Abbey. You can explore as much or as little as you would like.

Cruise Day 3: Brussels / Bruges (Zeebrugge), Belgium  (Saturday: October 12, 2024  / 8:00am - 6:00pm)
BrugesBruges is an ancient city located in the northern part of Belgium, about 62 miles from Brussels. The city was once a main port of Belgium welcomed artists and nobles from Europe during the 15th century and is distinguished by canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings. Its port, Zeebrugge, is an important center for fishing and European trade. In the city center’s Burg square, the 14th-century Stadhuis (City Hall) has an ornate carved ceiling. Nearby, Market square features a 13th-century belfry with a 47-bell carillon and a 272 foot tower with panoramic views.
Included Shore Excursion: Shuttle to Bruges & Private Walking Tour - Our drive to Bruges is Bruges canalabout a half an hour and where our walking tour begins. Our old town walk will take us to the best of countless bridges, chocolate shops and medieval treasures highlighting the splendor of this historically rich city. Having gracefully aged from its days as a medieval trading center, Bruges seems almost too good to be true, made of stunning gothic and Renaissance buildings and presenting a charming atmosphere today.

We will tour the striking canal side views, cross legendary bridges and have some breaks for photos at the Market Square, Belfry Tower, Quay of the Rosary, Chapel of the Holy Blood and Saint John’s Hospital, an eight hundred-year-old venue once caring for pilgrims and travelers.

Before we depart for our ship the guide will be happy to direct us towards the most delectable Belgian chocolate shops, legendary breweries or waffle shops for a taste of local delicacies.

Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths.
Included Shore Excursion: Amsterdam Highlights & Zaanse Schans Windmill Village Tour - Leave the city behind as we drive to one of Holland's most charming villages, Zaanse Schans. Travelers associate Holland with its windmills, and Zaanse Schans has plenty of historic windmills and houses, most completed in the late 1500s to the 1600s. At one time, Zaanse Schans had more than 500 windmills along its canals. Sadly, most of them are long gone. We will walk tour past some of the historic green-timbered houses and canals to a working windmill.
Cheese-making is also an old Dutch guild and a visit to a local dairy farm offers us an opportunity to view a cheese-making demonstration and experience the taste of fresh cheese.
Then we will drive back to the beautiful capital of the Netherlands for an overview tour of Amsterdam. See the architecture of city mansions, countless canals and amazing views from the famous museum district to the historic city center. We will walk by St. Nicholas Basilica and around Amsterdam's main square, the Dam.

The Gokstad, Tune and Oseberg were sea-going ships before they were towed ashore and used in funeral rituals for their wealthy owners around the Oslo Fjord. In the tombs, archaeologists found some of the richest grave finds of the Viking Age. At the Viking Ship Museum we will see the ships and skeletal remains, beautiful wooden carvings and objects that shed light on the Vikings' fascinating world.

Warnemunde GermanyWhat does Berlin have that other world cities don't? Well, first of all, there's the locals, whose rough yet friendly charm is all part of the Berlin experience. It's been more than two decades since the walls came down and Berlin became unified in many ways, including the pursuit of joy. Add to that an incredible array of sights that reflect not only the city's new-found swagger but also its great history. Germany's capital city is a city that balances cosmopolitan chic with a liberal undercurrent of creativity and cool. Famous landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag fascinate and the elegant Bavarian Quarter amazes.

Beautiful historic Il Palacete is your home for the week while you enjoy your Pilates retreat in Andalusia. Private and peaceful, it’s a large country house set in dramatic hilly surrounds with wonderful views and is just 30 minutes’ drive from the coast. It’s the perfect spot for a Pilates holiday, with both inside and outside spaces for classes, and an elegant pool and tennis court to use while you’re here.

Inside, the 15th-century villa offers a touch of grandeur; it’s comfortable, and our guests quickly feel at home here. Our private chef cooks your meals when we’re not dining out, and the villa offers many places to enjoy a drink before meals in its terraces and gardens. It ticks all the hallmarks of the comfort our guests have come to expect on a Flavours holiday.

8 Day Italian Cooking Vacations in Venice, Italy
For Singles & Friends

Venice, like all other regions in Italy, has its own food specialities. Cookery holidays to Venice and the Veneto region offer a wonderful opportunity to explore the culinary traditions of the region. Obviously, due to the proximity to the sea, there are a large selection of seafood dishes to choose from. Not only is the lagoon known for its fresh seawater dishes, there are also an interesting number of inland fresh fish dishes. Preserving fish either by marinating them or keeping them in salt water was a very common technique that still continues to this day.

Learn to speak like a local in the beautiful Bologna, Italy

Buongiorno! Choose your language holiday in Italy’s foodie heartland. The city itself is a medieval beauty, housing the world’s oldest university, and attractive colonnaded streets.

Our base is in the peaceful hills south of Bologna, where, as well as learning Italian, you’ll relax and enjoy delicious Italian food and wine in stunning surroundings. When we venture out to Bologna and to Ravenna, you’ll be able to soak up the atmosphere and test out your Italian in trattorias, food markets, shops, and perhaps a bar or two. Our host will always be on hand, in case you need any help.

Where you’re going to stay
Our villa is a beautifully restored large farmhouse, situated in rural Tredozio on top of the highest hill. Enjoy the peace and quiet and unforgettable views of the surrounding area and the Apennine hills. The sun rises from the Romagnole Apennines to warm up the large swimming pool and al fresco dining area, and sets behind the Tuscan Apennines. The hills stretch endlessly from the villa, and you can easily stroll on tracks around the villa, as well as simply relax with a drink in the large garden, gazing at the limitless view.
