Vacation Day 1: Arrival in Guayaquil (Friday, April 25, 2025)
GuayaquilYou will be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel. Guayaquil is located on the western bank of the Río Guayas. The metropolis is the country’s largest city and its commercial center. The port is an important stop for international imports and exports on the Pacific coast. Stroll around the new riverfront “Malecón 2000” that combines green areas and shopping malls along the city’s coastline and has become Guayaquil’s landmark. Don’t miss the picturesque Las Peñas district and explore the city’s growing art scene.

Vacation Day 2: Guayaquil - "City Tour" ( Saturday, April 26, 2025)

classic gothic style CathedralStart your Guayaquil City Tour at the Simon Bolívar Park. Here, visit the classic gothic style Cathedral, which was completely rebuilt after the 1896 fires that destroyed many of the city’s beautiful wooden buildings. Located north of the city center, the Las Peñas district is the oldest and most picturesque. Admire the 400-year-old colonial houses that have now become art galleries or workshops and stroll around the open-air painting and sculpture exhibitions. Then, as you walk along the beautiful boardwalk “Malecón 2000” by the Guayas River, appreciate the river and city views.

End your tour with a visit to the Historical Park, located on the banks of the Guayas River. The park was built in 1997 as a theme park and is aimed to exhibit the history and culture of the old province of Guayaquil. The site also recreates the architecture, traditions and the urban and rural life, mixed with a beautiful natural park full of a diverse vegetation that form different natural and wildlife areas with their respective flora and fauna.

Vacation Day 3: Guayaquil-Galapagos Islands (Sunday, April 27, 2025)

Galapagos Galapagos Sea LionsIn the morning you will be taken to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands.
Galapagos - the Enchanted Islands - doubtlessly are the highlight of every Ecuador trip and you also should not miss a visit, for it is the most unique living museum of evolutionary changes and you would get to know a variety of exotic species endemic to this Archipelago! Galapagos is the perfect setting to experience the evolutionary changes, which have led to a new understanding of live on earth. Animals unafraid of man and so different from any others found elsewhere, make visitors wonder about their existence on our planet. Among the animals found, are the different species of giant “Galapagos” tortoises that gave the islands their name, a variety of birds and marine mammals such as iguanas, sea lions, dolphins, whales as well as a great number of fish. Among the flora, the most distinctive are mangroves and endemic cacti -to mention only some of them!

Your guide will welcome you at the Baltra airport. Then, take a bus and a ferry to the Santa Cruz Island.

Galapagos Galapagos TurtleSanta Cruz Island is the second largest island and is located in the middle of the archipelago. Colonized in the 1920’s, Puerto Ayora is the main human settlement with the most important harbor in the Galápagos. After Isabela Island, Santa Cruz is home to the second largest population of giant tortoises (about 3000). Discover the island’s beautiful beaches and bays with sea lions, marine turtles, and seabirds. Or, take your adventures off the beaten track to its remote highlands and verdant landscapes.

Ride through the highlands and observe the change in vegetation: from arid landscapes filled with cacti to the lush rainforest. Take a short stop and observe the twin craters. These sinkholes were created by the collapse of a volcanic roof caused by tectonic movements and erosion. The Giant Tortoise Reserve in the Santa Cruz highlands is one of the few places you can see these giants in their natural habitat. The large, pre-historic looking animals can be seen as you walk along the trails during their migration from the coast to the highlands. It is also one of the best sites to observe the short-eared owl, another endemic specie from the Galápagos.

Enjoy lunch in a typical hacienda and continue your journey towards Puerto Ayora.

Vacation Day 4: Galapagos Islands (Monday, April 28, 2025)
IguanaFrom Puerto Ayora,Leisurely walk to Tortuga Bay, one of the longest white sandy beaches in the archipelago. Along its shores, keep an eye out for marine iguanas, sea turtles, and migratory birds. On the west, a rocky edge divides the beach and creates a calm cove ideal to swim around the bay. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure.  Bring your bathing suit and snorkel gear (also available to rent) and enjoy the day in the water at one of the best Galapagos snorkel sites Tortuga Laguna or spend the afternoon shopping back in town.

Vacation Day 5 Galapagos Islands (Tuesday, April 29, 2025)

Galapagos blue footed boobyDuring a full day boat excursion you’ll visit one of the islands North Seymour, South Plazas, Bartholomew or Santa Fe. Each of the islands has its own significant beauties to offer and regardless which you’ll visit, you’ll definitely enjoy your stay. Lunch on board and snorkelling activity included. North Seymour is a flat island that was uplifted from the sea by underground seismic activity. Located North of Baltra, it is one of the best places to see Blue Footed Boobies and Magnificent Frigate birds. Blue Footed Boobies are found on the flat area near the coast of this island (they nest from May to November). Continuing the trail to the interior, one stumbles upon the biggest congregation of Magnificent Frigate birds in the island. While on North Seymour, there is a high chance of seeing a great show of acrobatic flight, namely a Frigate bird robbing a booby, a gull or even another Frigate bird the food.  South Plazas Island, where a large colony of sea lions lounges daily in the equatorial sun. Soon you will notice their subtly diabolic grins and wonder what they find so humorous; you only hope the joke isn't on you! South Plazas also boasts excellent examples of typicalGalapaganean flora such as the towering cacti "trees" that form the principal diet for boththe land iguanas and the cactus finch. Other birds that may flutter by include lava gulls, yellow warblers and red-billed tropicbirds with their elaborate tails.

Vacation Day 6 Galapagos Islands ( Wednesday, April 30, 2025)
Galapagos Glapagos IslandAnother fun filled day out on the water. Full day boat excursion visiting one of the islands North Seymour, South Plazas, Bartholomew or Santa Fe. Bartholomew, a tiny island of just 1.2 km 2 , offers the visitor one of the most spectacular views of the archipelago. Bartholomew is located near the west coast of James, on the other side of Sullivan Bay. It is famous for its Pinnacle Rock, which is the representative characteristic of Bartholomew. The climb to the 114 m high peak is both challenging and worth-doing. On your way up, you will encounter different formations of volcanic origin including spatter and tuff cones, lava flows and lava tubes. Once on the summit, there is a spectacular view of the surroundings. Bartholomew is also a must for the visitor interested in geology. Penguins are common in the bay area.

Vacation Day 7 - Galapagos Islands (Thursday, May 1, 2025)
Galapagos Penguins GalapagosVisit the Charles Darwin Research Center which was inaugurated 1994 in Puerto Ayora. Over 200 scientists and volunteers are active in the conservation and research projects for the most famous resident of the Galápagos: the Giant Tortoise. Stroll around the impressive giant prickly- pear cactus forest or visit the baby turtles that are affectionately cared for until they can be repatriated. Learn about the tortoises’ different life stages: from incubation, hatching, and growth periods. Head to the port for our transfer from Santa Cruz Island to Isabela Island by speedboat.

galapagos islands volcan sierra negra y volcan chicoIsabela Island is the archipelago’s biggest island and occupies about 60% of the land area. About 1 million years ago, the merger of 6 volcanoes formed the island: Cerro Azul, Sierra Negra (Santa Tomás), Alcedo, Ecuador, Darwin, and Wolf. Today, all except the Ecuador volcano are active, making it a very active place on Earth. The most recent volcanic activity was on June 26 th 2018, when the Sierra Negra volcano erupted. Isabela’s unique landscape, lava fields, beautiful beaches, and relaxing atmosphere offer travelers a matchless experience in nature.

Vacation Day 8 - Galapagos Islands (Friday, May 2, 2025)

Las TintorerasFrom Puerto Villamil, take a short boat ride to a small rocky islet known as “Las Tintoreras”, one of the island’s most beautiful sites. Here, sharks can be seen resting in the lava canals. Observe marine iguanas and playful sea lions on the sandy beach. Put your mask and snorkel on to explore the underwater world filled with colorful fish, sea turtles, and much more. The Wetlands Route is a 5km series of trails that can be explored by foot or by bike. Choose to explore different sites like lagoons, beaches, viewpoints, mangroves, and many more beautiful hidden spots.

Buenos AiresBuenos Aires, Argentina Highlights Singles Vacation Itinerary

Vacation Day 1 : Arrive Buenos Aires, Argentina
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel, the Novotel Buenos Aires Hotel. Free time to relax before we start our trip around this wonderful city. Tonight meet your group leader and join the other singles for an optional dinner.

Vacation Day 2: Buenos Aires
plaza de mayoToday we explore Buenos Aires on our full Day tour of the city. Soaked in culture, the city is a giant living, breathing museum showcasing a vibrant, and often volatile, blend of European and Latin American influences. Today we will visit the famous Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At the other end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress building.
We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, an imposing Neo-classical building and Argentina´s main catholic building. The mausoleum of General San Martin is located inside, and Pope Francis celebrated religious services here when he was Cardinal of Buenos Aires.
La BocaOur next stop is La Boca, Buenos Aires's most colorful and picturesque area famous for the Boca Stadium and Caminito Street. After driving by the stadium enjoy a walking tour and lunch break at Caminito street. Located on what used to be the city’s biggest port, immigrants set up shops, worked the docks and built homes from the scrap material leftover from ship-building. You’ll see this in the haphazard shanty houses that still line the streets here, made from sheet metal and wooden planks; in addition, nearly all of them are painted in very bright colors. The area is now thriving with peddlers selling art, buskers playing music and stalls offering trinkets of every variety.Zanjon de Granados
San Telmo, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods and our next stop, boasts a vibrant tango and arts scene. The area still maintains much of its original architecture, historic mansions and cobbled streets. Its antiques markets, candle street lighting (known as farolas), cobblestones, and old buildings, all add to the unique atmosphere. In fact, we will visit an 1830 old mansion with an ancient Zanjón (ravine) to take a fascinating underground trip into the origins of the city. Tour through the archaeological maze of centuries-old tunnels and ruins, dating back to Buenos Aires’ early foundations. Explore the subterranean waterways and learn about the immigrant families who lived in the house after the wealthy tangoowners departed.
While visiting Buenos Aires, watching a tango show should be on everyone's bucket list. Originally from the poorer districts and only danced by men, the music included flutes, violins, and guitars. Later on, the flutes were replaced by the "bandoneón" (a type of accordion), which gave tango its distinctive flair. Tonight we will head to one of the city’s tango houses, indulge in exquisite food, and enjoy a live tango show.

Vacation Day 3: Buenos Aires - New Years Eve
floralis genericaToday we head north and visit La Recoleta, one of the Buenos Aires's most glamorous neighborhoods. Along Alvear Avenue, see countless upscale stores, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The Recoleta Cultural Center, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Palais de Glace are an important part of Buenos Aires’ cultural activities. We will drive by many beautiful parks, and see the famous Floralis Generica at the United Nations Park, and the Libertador and Figueroa Alcorta Avenues.
Recoleta CemeteryVisit the Recoleta Cemetery, founded in 1822, one of the most prominent cemeteries in the world. The most celebrated Argentineans, including Eva Peron and her family, are buried at this elaborate cemetery, where mausoleums replicate chapels, pyramids and Greek temples. Appreciate the ornate mausoleums, sculptures, and vaults made by famous local and international artists.
After our tour of the Cemetery, enjoy free time to visit one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Stroll around New Years Eve Buenos Airesthe streets filled with designer boutiques, fashionable cafes, and trendy restaurants.

Then it's time to go back to the hotel and get ready for a fun, exciting New Year's Evening. Starting with a wonderful dinner at a local Argentian restaurant near Puerto Madero. Then we'll immerse ourselves in the Buenos Aires New Year spirit at Puerto Madero. We'll join the crowd as they countdown to midnight and enjoy the unobstructed view of the fireworks.

Vacation Day 4: Buenos Aires - Iguazu Falls
Iguazu Falls ArgentinaAfter breakfast we transfer to the domestic airport for our flight to Iguazu. At the border conjunctions of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, Puerto Iguazú is the entry gate to the imposing falls. Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu Airport (IGR) Argentina, we will be met at the airport and transferred to the group's hotel, Mercure Iguazu Hotel Iru located at the heart of the Iryapú Jungle. Enjoy the pool and have dinner at the hotel's restaurant as tomorrow is a busy day.

Vacation Day 5: Iguazu Falls - Argentine Falls Tour & The Great Adventure

Machu Picchu & Lake Titicaca Adventure
40's, 50's, 60's+ Singles Vacations
November 1 - November 10, 2024 - $2825

Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, is a fortress city of the ancient Incas. The ruins are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top, erecting hundreds of stone structures in the 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small but extraordinary city. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been used by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and about 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation.

classic gothic style CathedralStart your Guayaquil City Tour at the Simon Bolívar Park. Located north of the city center, the Las Peñas district is the oldest and most picturesque. Vacation Day 3: Guayaquil-Galapagos Islands (Sunday, April 14, 2024)

Vacation Day 4: Galapagos Islands (Monday, April 15, 2024)

Vacation Day 5 Galapagos Islands (Tuesday, April 16, 2024)

Vacation Day 6 Galapagos Islands ( Wednesday, April 17, 2024)

Penguins are common in the bay area.

galapagos islands volcan sierra negra y volcan chicoIsabela Island is the archipelago’s biggest island and occupies about 60% of the land area. Amazon Observation TowerVacation Day 6: Amazon - Observation Tower and Limoncocha Biological Reserve
This morning after breakfast, we visit an observation tower 100-feet high, built against a giant kapok tree. From the top of the tower, we will be blessed with this unique perspective of the forest, looming over the treetops and the greatness of the Amazon Basin.
In the afternoon, we visit Limoncocha Biological Reserve, a fascinating protected area where more than 478 bird species and several monkey species have been recorded. This activity will extend into the evening, when we will have a chance to spot black caiman with the help of our flashlights. After our adventure we return to the M/V Manatee for our final Amazon dinner.

Vacation Day 7: Amazon to Quito
Amazon Quito CacoIn the morning we disembark the M/V Manatee and transfer by motorized canoe to Coca. Relax and enjoy the scenery on our final Amazon ride. Then board our plane for the short flight to Quito, considered the continent's most beautiful city. Our driver will be waiting to transfer us to our hotel.
A night at leisure back in civilization.

Vacation Day 8: Quito - Otavalo Indian Market
Amazon Otavalo Indian MarketToday we travel north to a valley deep within the Andes to the world famous Otavalo Indian market. Saturday is market day and the town is crowded with traditional dressed locals and people from surrounding highland villages. Everyone is busy bargaining for traditional Ecuadorian crafts, weavings and textiles. Warm jackets, woven bags, pillow covers and wall hangings are great souvenirs. Woodcarving, musical instruments and jewelry are also popular.
In the afternoon, visit Cotacachi, famous for its handcrafted leather articles. If time allows, the adventure ends with a visit to beautiful Cuicocha Lake, a flooded volcanic crater with two floating islets, before returning to Quito.
Tonight enjoy our farewell dinner at a local-flavor restaurant.

Vacation Day 9: Quito - Tour Ends
Sad to say but our Amazon River Cruise Singles Vacation has come to an end. After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to all your new travel friends as we make our way to the airport. Your singles adventure doesn't have to end if you are continuing on to the Experience the Galapagos Singles Vacation.

The Amazon Experience

Bird Watching
Amazon bird watching
There is no need to embellish the marvelous reality of Amazonia in terms of birds. With over 580 recorded species, including raucous parrots, glorious eagles, patterned herons, blindingly bright tanagers and cotingas, peculiarly unique hoatzins and umbrellabirds and everything in between. Ecuadorian Amazonia is quite attractive because of its accessibility. But one of the great things about birding with Manatee, is the fact that we can travel across the gamut of Amazonian ecosystems during a single trip, from the flooded forests of the Peruvian Border, the lake habitats of Limoncocha and Pañacocha, and extremely remote areas near the Peruvian border, to the record-breaking ever-diverse Yasuní, giving us the most complete version possible of bird life in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin. We walk forests, climb observation towers, hide behind blinds, or silently canoe inside black water streams and out in open blackwater lakes, seeking out as many birds as possible: you’ll be amazed at the variety, beauty and fascinating singularities of hundreds of different species.
Jungle Hikes
Amazon hikeA lot goes on on the ground in the rainforest. Some creatures are perfectly camouflaged, like walking sticks, sphinx moths, dried-leaf katydids, and glass frogs, others are quite the opposite, bright and perky like rainbow katydids and orchid bees. We walk and hike the rainforests under towering trees — as towering as a city full of skyscrapers—, the light trickling down in layers, smelling the aromas of a million different plants, feeling the presence of innumerable creatures filling every corner of the forest. The understory is a world within itself… Every plant holds a universe. Imagine every tree… imagine the entire forest… We program different walks for both inside forest exploration or lounging riverbanks and lakes, on longer, shorter, harder or easier trails, depending on interest or difficulty level, together with guides that enlighten us with their knowledge on life in the forest, the faunal communities that inhabit them, the medicinal plants that grow inside them, and much more.
Observation Tower
Amazon observation tower2Observation towers are spectacular vantage points that give us a sense of the forest’s overall scale. We climb several hundred steps (over 165 feet) up one of the enormous emergent trees traveling through the vertical stratification created by the forest’s spectacular height and diversity. We move towards the light, reaching the subcanopy and later the canopy, noticing the different biological realities of each level, and then higher still, above the tree tops to a most spectacular view from where one can spot nesting birds, undulating mountain ridges, or monkeys swinging from trees. There is amazing activity up in this “neck of the woods”. Scientists have explored little of these upper areas of the forest, mainly because of the difficulty of getting to them: which means thousands upon thousands of hectares of undiscovered territory.
Canoe Excursions
Amazon Canoe ExcursionsPerhaps the closest sensation to penetrating paradise when visiting the Amazon Basin takes place on canoe, inching down a black-water stream with the forest gyrating above you in a million sounds… These waters are full of vitamins and minerals, and obtain their color from the vegetation that falls in them. You may suddenly surprise a pair of macaws preening each other, monkeys cackling while they feed or find enormous 6.5 feet long Giant Otters swimming up a creek with the entire family. The ancient inhabitants of these lands mastered the region’s waterways and we will be able to experience, with them, the inspiring, ageless practice of paddling in the midst of forest life. At night we can seek out caiman and in the day the spectacular Pink River Dolphins or the elusive Manatee.
