Tonight you will meet your Singles Host in the hotel lobby for a meet and greet and our Welcome dinner. Arrive early and visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.
Vacation Day 2 - Gallup, NM - Window Rock, AZ - Kayenta, AZ
After breakfast we board our motor coach and hit the road towards the historic Route 66 and Gallup, New Mexico. As we enter the gateway to Indian land we will stop in Window Rock, AZ, a small city that serves as the seat of government and capital of the Navajo Nation. At the Navajo Nation Museum, learn about the colorful and unique history of the Navajo people via various exhibits and an interpretive video. The museum also has a wonderful gift shop that houses various books about Navajo culture,
jewelry, and other fine collections.
Next stop is Toadlena Trading Post, which operates in the same way trading posts have since the 1870s -directly with the weaver and her family. Toadlena Trading Post is a busy place that offers a glimpse into the past, maintaining a lifestyle that the Navajo and the traders have played out for over 100 years—nurturing a centuries-old weaving tradition to continue into the future. Try your hand at carding and spinning wool with a weaver. Are you ready to stand in 4 states at the same time? Four Corners Monument is the only place in the United States where four states intersect: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. You can stand on that spot and truly be in four states at one time.
Overnight in Kayenta, AZ located in the Navajo County.
Vacation Day 3 - Monument Valley - By Horse or By Jeep
Today we spend all day visiting the famous Monument Valley Park, a red-sand desert region on the Arizona-Utah border. The park, an iconic symbol of the American West is frequently used as a filming location for Western movies. The valley is host to towering sandstone rock formations that have been sculpted over time and soar 400 to 1,000 feet above the valley floor. Combined with the surrounding mesas, buttes, and desert environment, it truly is one of the natural wonders of the world.
Enjoy a cookout lunch in the Valley and choose to tour Monument Valley by jeep or horseback with Navajo guides.
1) Take a guided jeep ride in Monument Valley that includes different aspects of Navajo culture. Enjoy the bumpy bliss of traveling to remote locations only accessible via a guide; the tales of history and Native American myth our guide shares with us along the tour; seeing the most beautiful and iconic parks in the country. You'll see a lot in a little time, and take home memories of the iconic West, that of the silver screen, and of sacred lands.
2) Famous actors and actresses rode horseback over the trails here, as they filmed classic westerns. Now you can ride the same trails as we participate in a guided horseback ride. There is no other place where you can experience a ride like this. The horse is an important, integral aspect of the Navajo culture and when you are riding you are directly participating in their cultural experience. The horseback tour is good for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders.
Overnight in Chinle, located in Northeast Arizona and adjacent to the Canyon de Chelly National Monument.
Vacation Day 4 - Canyon de Chelly
We wake up today at Canyon de Chelly National Park and monument, located in northeastern Arizona, completely on the tribal lands of the Navajo Nation. The park is considered one of the longest inhabited landscapes in the northwestern hemisphere with more than 4,000 years of occupation. It has ruins of indigenous tribes including Navajo and Pueblo Peoples and still houses about 40 residents within the canyons. There are over 2700 archaeological sites within the many canyons of Canyon de Chelly but only 13 of the 700 standing ruins have been stabilized, re-enforced, or protected from degradation.
After breakfast we’ll meet for our jeep tour that will take us back to Anasazi times. The Anasazi's inhabited the canyon from 2500 B.C.E. to 1300 A.D and were the first people of the canyon. Around the 1200’s they migrated from the canyon; throughout the southwest they left behind dwellings, handmade tools and wares. During our tour we
will learn about the people and the events that went on in Canyon de Chelly. View the ruins of the early people, and admire their beautiful artwork in the forms of pictographs and petroglyphs.
This afternoon enjoy a very different type of scenery during a visit to the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. The Petrified Forest is known for its fossils, especially fallen trees that lived in the Late Triassic Period, about 225 million years ago. The sediments containing the fossil logs are part of the widespread and colorful Chinle Formation, from which the Painted Desert is named.
Overnight in Flagstaff, AZ, surrounded by mountains, desert and Ponderosa pine forests.
Vacation Day 5 - Tusayan, AZ
At 1.6 million acres the Kaibab National Forest borders both the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon. Today we enjoy a beautiful drive through the Forest with stops at Sunset Crater (extinct volcano) and Wupatki National Monument (Prehistoric Pueblo dwellings) on our way to the big one – Grand Canyon National Park!
Sunset Crater will give us insight into what the earth was like in the last millennium. The lava flows and cinder rocks are frozen in time, appearing red and clear as if they had cooled down just last week instead of hundreds of years ago. Amidst the hardened lava, wildflowers and trees spout up, providing a gentle, colorful contrast to the powerful strength of the volcano.
Well-preserved rock-formed Pueblo dwellings in the Wupatki National Monument are evidence of an ancient civilization. Ancient pueblos dot red-rock outcroppings across miles of prairie. Where food and water seem impossible to find, people built pueblos, raised families, farmed, traded, and thrived. The pueblos all have a distinctive deep red color and were made from thin, flat blocks of the local Moenkopi sandstone.
Upon arrival at the Grand Canyon our tour leader will make sure we all understand how to use the free shuttles at the Canyon. Tonight let's enjoy the sunset.
Overnight in Tusayan, AZ, located at the South Rim entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park. Tusayan is a tiny town where everything is just a several-minute walk away.
Vacation Day 6 - Grand Canyon
Visit the Grand Canyon ALL DAY at your own pace using the Grand Canyon National Park's shuttle buses in and around the South Rim village! One of the Canyon shuttles depart from our hotel and takes you directly to the Visitor Center in the Park. Come and go as you please. The entire route roundtrip is about 40 minutes with the first bus leaving Tusayan at 8:00am and the last bus departs the Vistor Center at 9:30pm.

Known for colorful rocks and unique formations, Oak Creek Canyon is famous the world around for its spectacular scenery. Once we've snaked our way down the switchbacks, SR 89A winds a lazy course down the length of Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. Day 3: Lake Maggiore Cruise - Full Day
Lake Maggiore, surrounded by the Lepontine Alps, covers an area of ??81.8 square miles and its coasts overlooks small villages , nineteenth-century villas and unique gardens whose beauty is recognized and appreciated throughout the world. Immerse yourself in art, history and natural beauty as we step onboard our private boat. Our cruise will take us around the lake and the 3 Borromean Islands, Isola Madre famous for its botanical garden, the picturesque Isola Pescatori and the most famous Isola Bella.
Just 1640 feet from Stresa, are the terraces of the Italian Botanical Garden of Isola Bella leapfroggers. This complex of Baroque art has ten terraces full of remarkable plants and flowers: rhododendrons, oleanders and a rich collection of camellias brought as a gift by various guests from all over the world, exotic botanical species, flowers and bulbs that color the flowerbeds, parterres and hedges, all taken care of by the skilled hand of the gardeners.
The Isola Superiore dei Pescatori, loved by artists and poets, is the most northerly of the three principal Borromean Islands and, with a population of 25 in 2018, it is the only one to be inhabited all year. The Borromei pretty much left Isola Superiore, frequently referred to as "The Island of the Fishermen" alone when they were converting its neighbors Isola Bella and Isola
Madre into sumptuous garden-palace combo. Here we can walk in a typical village, with its charming streets, among ancient houses built around the church of San Vittore. The restaurants offer typical dishes of the lake: hot and cold, salmon trout, perch fillet, grilled fresh water.
Isola Madre, located in the center of the Borromeo Gulf, is the largest of the islands of Lake Maggiore and home to an elegant villa surrounded by extensive botanic gardens. The gardens are composed of a thousand colors and flowers of rhododendrons, magnolias, azaleas and essences from all over the world. Also in the park free live pheasants, peacocks and other colorful birds.
Day 4: Stresa - Como - Brunate - Menaggio
After breakfast, it's time to leave our first lake behind as we drive to Lake Como and our beautiful hotel on the lake. After about an hour, we will reach the city of Como, located in the southern part of Lake Como. It is known for its Gothic-style Duomo, the panoramic funicular and the pedestrian path along the lake. Como is a city of culture and the Old Town features elements from its Roman and Medieval past, as well as religious buildings and palaces. On our guided tour. discover the Broletto, town hall palace,Teatro Sociale and Church of San Fedele. Our guide will take us to Via degli artigiani, a very important area in the historic center of Como where over time the most important tradesmen have developed their skills. Here we will find the shops of the ancient artisans.Next we take the funicular railway, which has linked Como and Brunate since 1894 and is still the quickest way of travelling between these two towns. It is also an opportunity to enjoy enchanting views over Lake Como and the Alps.
Brunate on Lake Como is a town in the hills rather than along the lakeshore and has ancient origins going back to the Celts. It is a getaway for wealthy and famous and one of the things you'll immediately notice is the vast variety of villas dotting the hillside. The landscape is covered by forests, mostly by maple, ash, pine, birch, locust, oak, chestnut and beech trees. And of course, there are fantastic views from up here! You can see across the lake to the green hills that give way to the rugged mountain peaks. The defining feature is the tall white lighthouse that rises from amidst the trees. There are several restaurants in Brunate, making it worth the trip not just to enjoy the panoramas but to eat! Some places are tucked in the countryside, while others offer nice views of the lake, and still others are down-home family-run restaurants.
Next we drive about half way up the western side of Lake Como, to the attractive and thriving town of Menaggio and the Grand Hotel Menaggio that overlooks the blue waters of Lake Como.
Day 5: Lake Como Cruise - Full Day
Lake Como, a deep glacial lake surrounded by soaring mountains and lush gardens, has wooded mountain slopes that protect the lake from
temperature extremes. The clear blue waters of Lake Como are nestled between rugged mountains and fringed with elegant villas and quaint villages that tumble down wooded hillsides to the lake shore. The enduring charm and beauty of the Italian Lakes has lured everyone from Roman emperors and Hollywood celebrities to the cream of European society.
The best way to really see Lake Como is from the water, aboard a private boat: view the grand homes, magnificent gardens and gorgeous backdrops that are only visible from the shining blue of the lake. Cruising along, our guide will explain the history of the lake, and tell us about the many European aristocrats and Hollywood glitterati who have properties here. View the idyllic islands that play host to grand palaces and picturesque fishing villages as well as superb gardens that nurture plants from all over the world.
Day 6: St Moritz, Switzerland
This morning we drive north to the town of Torino, Italy which is close to the border of Switzerland and board the famous Bernina Express, one of the most scenic train rides in Europe. As Menaggio is linked by ferry to all parts of the Lake the wonders of traveling by water transport can be thoroughly enjoyed.
Day 8: Como to ParmaLeave the beautiful Italian lake district behind as we drive a little over an hour to Parma, located halfway between the Lakes and Cinque Terre. Since Ancient Roman times, the city of Parma has been considered Italy’s gastronomic capital so get your taste buds ready to discover Parma and its culinary traditions. Parma takes its cheese seriously and needs to be aged for a minimum of two years. The cheese is produced from the milk of cows that graze in the hills of the Po Valley.
Discover another culinary specialty of this area: Parma ham, better known as prosciutto di Parma. Famed for it delicate and sweet flavor, sliced paper thin, and aged a minimum of 400 days, it is produced from specially bred pigs in the countryside just outside of the city.

Day 9: Parma - Cinque Terre - Genoa
Discover the Italian Riviera as we travel through the beautiful villages of Cinque Terre. After breakfast we drive to La Spezia, meet our guide, and travel by local train to Cinque Terre. The first village we encounter is Riomaggiore, it sits right on the Gulf of Genoa, at the upper edge of Italy’s boot, where the water is unspoiled and the bluest of blues. A stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets, brings us to the shoreline on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa, with a small beach and a wharf framed by tower houses.
Our next stop will be the beautiful town of Manarola, built on a high rock 230 feet above sea level and one of the most charming of the Cinque Terre villages. The village is all ups and downs, with steep narrow alleys leading to the sea. The tiny harbor features a boat ramp, picturesque multicolored houses facing the sea, a tiny piazza and some of the best deep-water swimming around.
Corniglia is the central town of the five villages and has a population of less than 300 inhabitants. It is located in an elevated position above the ocean, atop steep cliffs, and it is the only Cinque Terre town without direct access to the sea. The tiny village is connected to its train station by a footpath known as Lardarina (377 stairs) and connected to the other villages by well maintained footpaths. Corniglia is an ancient Roman village that is surrounded on three sides by vineyards and terraces.
The small fishing village of Vernazza is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The medieval castle was built to protect the village from pirates and the tiny port is surrounded by colorful, antique homes clinging to the cliffs. Vernazza's historic wealth is evidenced by the elegant style of its houses and streets, which are decorated with tower forms, open galleries, refined arcades and elaborate doorways. The village is surrounded by very steeply-terraced olive groves which are said to produce among the finest olive oil in the country. The last of the five villages along the Cinque Terre strip, Monterosso al Mare is the most visited, because it has the only sizable sand beach and the biggest hotels. The village, located on hills cultivated with vines and olives has amazing beaches, beautiful reefs and crystal clear waters. The old town area is separated from the more modern resort area by the Aurora tower and is home to the ruins of a medieval castle and San Francesco church.

Best of Portugal Singles Vacation Itinerary
Vacation Day 1: Lisbon
Arrive into Lisbon airport (airport code LIS) this morning (remember you are flying home from Porto - airport code OPO) and take the provided shuttle to the group's hotel, located in one of the most elegant areas of Lisbon. Time to relax or start your explorations in Lisbon, Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city before our singles vacation begins with a welcome meeting at 6:00pm and an optional dinner.
Vacation Day 2: Lisbon
Today we discover Lisbon on our full day guided city tour. Explore Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods as we drive through crooked cobblestone streets lined with quaint cafes and learn how Lisbon grew from a fishing village into a cosmopolitan city during the Age of Discoveries. Pause to admire the Lisbon church’s intricate stained glass rose window, reconstructed with fragments from the original. See the 16th-century Jeronimo’s Monastery (UNESCO), a grand religious building historically associated with the early sailor explorers and the Monument to the Discoveries built on the north bank of the Tagus River in 1960 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Prince Henry the Navigator.
View the impressive Belem Tower, a small fort that was constructed in the center of the Tejo Estuary to guard Lisbon from seafaring raiders. For such a trivial role the fort was lavished with beautiful and intricate details that include North African Moorish styled watchtowers, shield shaped battlements and the first European stone carving of a Rhinoceros.
Visit São Jorge Castle (Saint George Castle), a Moorish castle occupying a commanding hilltop overlooking the historic center and Tagus River. The strongly fortified citadel dates from the medieval period of Portuguese history, and is one of the main tourist sites of Lisbon.
Time for a tasting at an old patisserie that has managed to hold on to the secret recipe of Portugal’s finest pastry for over 100 years and enjoy a demonstration and tasting of the famous ‘pastéis de Belem’.
Tonight we enjoy our welcome dinner with an Authentic Fado Show, a traditional Portuguese musical performance.
Vacation Day 3: Lisbon - Sintra - Cascais - LisbonOur morning begins with a drive to Sintra, a resort town in the foothills of Portugal’s Sintra Mountains. A longtime royal sanctuary, its forested terrain is studded with pastel-colored villas and palaces. The Moorish- and Manueline-style Sintra National Palace is distinguished by dramatic twin chimneys and elaborate tile work. The monastery was seriously damaged by the 1755 earthquake and was the abandoned. The building of Palacio da Pena, which started in 1840 and finished in 1885, when king Fernando died. It was inhabited by the royal family until 1910, when the Portuguese Republic was established and monarch was abolished.
The forested park lands that surround the palace continue the Romanticism design ideals of the palace, with hidden pathways, ornate features and stunning view points.Free time for lunch before we drive to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, and get a souvenir certificate with the inscription "where the land ends and the sea begins". Pass the stunning beaches of Cascais, including Praia do Guincho, the most picturesque beach on the Lisbon coast.
On the way to Cascais, experience the mystery of the cave "Devil's Mouth", created by the crashing of the waves on the rocky cliff. Stop at the elegant seaside resort of Cascais, a once peaceful fishing village that was discovered by European nobility for its idyllic setting and became a favorite destination for the international jet set thereafter.
Then we travel back to Lisbon for a relaxing evening.
Vacation Day 4: Lisbon Free Day - Sunset CruiseEnjoy a free day in Lisbon to discover this magical city on your own or with a few of your new travel friends. If you are interested in a guided activity, you can check out the Lisbon tours and activities here - Lisbon Optional Tours & Activities. If shopping is your thing, LxFactory, once an abandoned industrial area, has shops, vendor stalls and cafes that create an artisanal shopping experience. Embaixada provides high-end artisanal shopping in an elegant converted palace. The stores in Embaixada tend to sell more classic items, whereas LxFactory is more cool and hip.
Tonight we sail into the sunset for fantastic views of Lisbon. Our cruise takes place on the Tagus River during the most magical time of the day: sunset. While relaxing on board, the cruise will pass by some of the main monuments of the Portuguese capital.
Vacation Day 5: Coimbra via Óbidos and NazareOur trip to the Portugal’s “Silver Coast” begins in the medieval walled town of Óbidos, located on a hilltop, encircled by a fortified wall, and divided between two parishes. Óbidos, steeped in history, culture and tradition remains a well-preserved example of medieval architecture. Inside the wall are colorful buildings, a small church, a market, lots of cafe's and locally made souvenirs. Stroll around the village walls and cobbled narrow streets with your guide and don’t forget to try the drink Ginja, a Portuguese liqueur made by infusing ginja berries.
For centuries, Nazare was a traditional seaside town where fishermen taught their children to avoid the big waves that crashed on the nearby cliffs. Yet over the past eight years, those same waves have made this place an unusual destination for extreme surfers, their fans, and the international companies that sponsor athletes. The waves, which are the
height of a 10-story building, are caused by an underwater canyon - 3miles deep and 125 miles long - that ends abruptly just before the shore of the city. We will stop here for free time for lunch.
On the banks of the River Mondego is Coimbra (aka "the city of students"), famous for its University, the oldest in Portugal and one of the oldest in Europe. There are several monuments from those times that show the splendor of Romanesque art. In the shopping area and historic cafe area of the city center, see the Monastery of Santa Cruz, which houses the tomb of Portugal's first king and the Monastery of Santa Clara-A-Velha. We overnight in Coimbra.

During our cultural tour, we will have the opportunity to visit interesting places such as the Bolhão Market, Santa Catarina Street, the Majestic Café, Avenida de Aliados, the cathedral, Batalha Square, Infante D. Henrique Square and many others. One of the buildings that we will visit today will be the impressive Palace of Porto Stock Exchange (Bolsa Palace), headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of neoclassical style.
Vacation Day 7: Porto - Cruise of the 6 bridges + Visit World of Wine
This morning we will be transferred to the river area. Enjoy a nice walk across the Douro River as we get to know the six bridges that crown the city of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Then will set sail on an exciting 50-minute ride along the Douro River. See the different points of interest that surround the city and hear about the famous Rabelos boats, authentic barges of the region. Some of the places of interest that we can see from the boat are the Bolsa Palace, the Museum of Port Wine, Cristal Palace, Ribeira de Oporto, Mosteiro de Serra do Pilar, among others. Upon docking we will drive over to the World of Wine, WOW for short. In centuries old Port wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, WOW pays homage to the region, and shines a light on the most important Portuguese industries and traditions. But WOW is more than museums, it is an entire district full of new and exciting things to do, explore, and learn. Six museum experiences, nine restaurants, shops, a temporary exhibition space, an events space and a wine school. The six museums, called experiences, have themes like wine, cork, chocolate, fashion (considering that Porto is the heart of Portugal’s garment industry), and the The Bridge Collection, featuring a vast array of centuries-old drinking vessels and glasses. Enjoy 2 experiences of your choice.

According to tradition, San Gonçalo had lived and was buried in there.
The city of Peso da Régua was born from the merger of the villages of Peso and Regla, extending along the banks of the Duero. In the middle of the 18th century, the Marquis of Pombal created the Alto Duero Vineyard Company and from then on the Rule began to grow and develop its wine production and consequently the marketing of the wines, the city's brand image. We pass through Pinhão, the region’s largest riverside town, from here the wine barrels were transported in special boats known as barcos rabelos to age in the local wine lodges. Famous for its beautiful train station along the Douro Line, The Pinhao station has tiled panels that depict scenes, landscapes and customs of the Douro Region.

Discover Borneo and Malaysia Singles Vacation Itinerary
Vacation Day 1 - Arrive Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia has a modern skyline dominated by the 1479 foot tall Petronas Twin Towers, a pair of glass-and-steel-clad skyscrapers with Islamic motifs. On arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Grand Millenial Hotel. To give everyone a chance to arrive, no activities are planned today. For those who have arrived early, we will meet for an optional dinner at 7:00pm.
Vacation Day 2 - Kuala LumpurThis afternoon is our Kula Lumpur city tour. We will drive through the lake gardens; with stops at the National Mosque and Independence Square. From there, we will take a short walk to Central Market passing the convergence of the Gombak and Klang river – at Masjid Jamek, one of the first buildings to be erected in Kuala Lumpur. Stroll through Chinatown, then board our bus to Kampung Baru, a typical Malay area where most houses are still built in traditional Malay architecture. Our journey continues toward Petronas Twin Towers, for a great photo shoot of the world’s tallest twin towers.
Located approximately 7 miles to the north of Kuala Lumpur is the site of an important Hindu temple and shrine. The Batu Caves is a 100-year-old temple which features idols and statues erected inside the main caves and around it. Incorporated with interior limestone formations said to be around 400 million years old. Its main attraction is the large statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to view the stunning skyline. Monkeys frolic around the caves, and paintings and scenes of Hindu Gods can be seen in the Ramayana Cave.
Uncover the secrets of pewtersmithing at the Royal Selangor Pewter factory where pewter products are skilfully hand-manufactured and indulge in the vast range of quality pewter-ware, or fine jewelry.
Then we stop at Melawati Hill to see the Silver-Leafed Monkeys and long-tailed macaques. The main difference between the silver-leafed babies as compared to the adults is that these babies have golden fur while the adults have dull grey colors. Explore the Dutch fortress atop Melawati Hill and enjoy the panoramic view of the estuary of Selangor River and fishing village.
Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner served at a local restaurant followed by a fireflies watching. Embark on a small wooden boat, and cruise along the river at the night to capture the beauty of this natural wonder.
Vacation Day 3 - Kuala Lumpur - Pulau Ketam (Crab Island)Catch a glimpse of Glenn Port and the Cruise Terminal on nearby Pulau Indah as we depart Port Klang for our 30 minute ferry ride to Crab Island. Our ferry will take us through the rivers which dissect the swampy Mangrove Island of Pulau Klang and with within no time we will find ourselves at Pulau Ketam. Upon arrival, we will take a leisurely stroll to see an entire village where even the roads are built on stilts. Soak in the atmosphere before we head off to eat lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch we will be have the opportunity to explore the village by bicycle or stroll around at your own pace. Ride around the village at your own speed but inexperienced cyclists should be careful on the narrow paths. After our exploration is complete we will return on the ferry.
Before returning to our hotel we will drive up to see the fabulous palace of the Selangor Sultan, one of the royal residences.
Vacation Day 4 - Kuala Lumpur - Penang
After breakfast we check-out of our hotel and depart Kuala Lumpur for Penang. On our way we will stop at Bukit Merah, the only Orangutan Research Facility in the Peninsular Malaysia. A short boat ride will take us to the Orang Utan Island, a 35-acre island nestled within the idyllic setting of Bukit Merah Laketown Resort.
Since its inception in 2000, Orang Utan Island has progressed from being a sanctuary, where visitors experienced first-hand awareness and education on the orangutan, to a recognized ex-situ conservation facility and referral center for the endangered Bornean orangutan.
Journey into the wild… The moment we step onto the lake cruiser, you know we are headed for adventure. As the cruiser cuts through the water, Orang Utan Island beckons closer, now, no more a mystery in the distance. As we alight onto the jetty, keep a look out high among the trees, you may spot an orangutan or two, swinging from tree to tree, maybe even taking a nap. Our steps on the boardwalk take us through a classroom of education in the life of an orangutan, where we will learn amazing facts about this intelligent primate.
The orangutan, or ‘man (orang) of the forest (hutan)’ in the local Bahasa Malaysia language, exhibits truly human-like mannerism in many facets of its behavior.A walk through the semi-circle steel-fence tunnel enclosure is a humbling experience, where we humans, seemingly in a cage, can peer out and be captivated by the orangutans roaming free beyond in the trees, on the grass, by the bushes, by the lake, just about anywhere.
Stroll by the Herbal Garden for an education on the plants of Malaysia, pop by the Education Zones for an expert briefing on the orangutan, stop by the Researcher’s Corner for a closer observation of the island’s star attractions...take your time, never rush the knowledge.
After our amazing orangutan experience we proceed to the royal town of Kuala Kangsar to visit the Ubudiah Mosque, see from far the old Sultan’s Residence. Then we proceed to Penang to check in into hotel.
Vacation Day 5 - Penang
This morning we explore Penang Island by The Beca, known locally as Trishaw or Jinricksha, an open three wheel vehicle. These eco-friendly bicycle rickshaws are fast becoming popular with both tourists and locals. It is the most practical and enjoyable way to explore Penang’s charming tourist spots. It ferries you through narrow lanes, offering closer view of the sites at a more leisurely pace and stopping virtually anywhere to allow you to take pictures of interesting sights. See: Fort Cornwallis - Tanjung City Marina - Clan Jetty - Khoo Kongsi - Acheh Street - Islamic Museum - Yap Kongsi Temple - Kapitan Kling Mosque - Goddess of Mercy Temple - Penang State Museum - Cheong Fatt Tze Mansions

Upon reaching Mykonos we will be transferred to our hotel, check-in and get ready for a walking tour of Mykonos Town, also known as Chora. We will stroll the narrow cobblestone streets of a town that was designed so pirates would get lost. The early evening scene is centered on Little Venice where we can sip a cocktail at one of the many bars and cafes which are so close to the water's edge that our feet get soaked when a boat passes. We will watch the sunset at the most famous windmills in Greece and have dinner (not included) in one of the many cafes. Mykonos attracts a broad clientele - celebrities, politicians, the beautiful people and ordinary mortals all flock here to see and be seen at the glitzy "anything goes" clubs for which the island is now world famous.

Morning at leisure in Mykonos to enjoy this unique island. Mykonos Island is a wonderful kaleidoscope of cosmopolitan shops, rocking bars, quaint windmills, great beaches, homey taverns and hidden churches all set against a brilliant blue backdrop. And it's not just the water that sparkles in the sun on Mykonos, but also the marble
streets and beautiful white cubist buildings that characterize the island's architecture. This afternoon we temporarily leave Mykonos for our excursion (weather permitting) to the neighboring island of Delos to visit the Temple of Apollo and other fascinating archaeological sites. We head to Mykonos Old Port to board our 30 minute cruise to Delos, the legendary birthplace of the Sun God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. For 500 years, Delos was the religious and commercial hub of the entire Aegean, today it remains treasured ruins. First see Agora and the Sacred Way, which leads to the Temple of Apollo. water house, luxurious villas.

Our vacation continues as we board our ferry and cruise to Crete, the largest island in Greece, and the fifth largest one in the Mediterranean Sea. Arriving in the port at Heraklion we will see the Koules Venetian Fortress on the breakwater of the harbor, where it has stood since shortly after the Venetians conquered Crete in the early 13th century. We will be met at the port and transferred to our Crete hotel. After checking in we will have time for beach and swimming before we go out exploring for the evening with our tour leader.
Vacation Day 8 - Crete
The center of the Minoan civilization was the Palace of Knossos, one of the island’s showstopping historical attractions. The original site is believed to have been built around 1900 BC, but following an earthquake, it was rebuilt on a grand scale, and lavish royal quarters, shrines, treasuries and storerooms were added around the Central Court. Hear the legends and Greek folklore while exploring areas of the palace like the Throne Room, home to frescoes of the Minoan’s sacred mythical beasts. Our guide will take us through the Central Court and gaze up at sights like the Grand Staircase. See an impressive fresco of rampaging bulls, and explore the corridors and labyrinth-like alleyways
that lead to intriguing rooms such as the Theatral Area – a place that may have once existed as a theater.
Let's visit the center of Heraklion town, surrounded by a formidable medieval wall, which was used to protect it from enemies. Maybe have a coffee, a Greek dessert or an ice cream in one of the many coffee shops/patisseries in Heraklion's main square. Or spend some time shopping, buy a designer outfit or a last minute souvenir - you may find a curio distinctly different from the typical "gift".
Vacation Day 9 - Crete/Jeep Safari
Today we get to see the hidden charms of Creter, enjoy breathtaking views, rural areas and the unique feeling of driving a jeep in Greece! Our start point is Chersonissos, from where we drive along the typical village of Avdou southwards to Aski village for our first coffee stop. Mountains.

After this break we will go northwards, through off road tracks to reach an altitude of 1900 meters, from where we will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Plateau of Lassithi. From here we will descend to
900 m. and we will cross the Plateau enjoying the view of its crops and windmills and we will have our last refreshment in the village of Psichro.
Tonight we gather together for music, fantastic views and our Farewell Dinner.

Arrive in Singapore and meet your driver for transportation to our group hotel - The Robertson House Singapore. At first glance, this diamond-shaped island just off the coast of Malaysia gleams with modernism and commercialism, making it seem more Western than Eastern. But as you continue to discover the city-state, you'll uncover the eclectic mix of cultures, religions, ancient treasures and British colonial impressions that give rise to a unique Singaporean identity. The cultural fusion is perhaps best expressed in Singapore's unofficial language, Singlish, a unique patois of English, Chinese and Malay. Free day to explore on your own or rest up for our adventures to come! Overnight Singapore (Robertson House)

Is there Internet access aboard the ship? Are there computers, or should I bring my laptop?
All Viking ships offer complimentary Wi-Fi or Internet access; this varies depending on your ship and the region you visit. You may use your personal device or one of the ship’s computers in our Internet Café area. Our connections rely on a cellular or satellite terminal—the best possible solution for river cruising. Due to the nature of data bandwidth and latency, as well as potential interruptions in satellite signals based on terrain and weather, you may experience slower online connections than you are accustomed to at home.
What is the electrical voltage in the stateroom? What kind of converters will I need for my computer/curling iron/camera battery charger?
If you are traveling on a Viking Longship, you will find both 110V and 220V electrical outlets in your stateroom. The 110V electrical outlets (North American style) are located above the desk and on each side of the bed. Other European ships have 220V electricity, and have the German Schuko safety plug, which has two pins. In China the ships have a 3-pin blade safety plug; an adapter with just the two slanted blades will also work. In Southeast Asia the ships use a 2-pin Euro plug. Some of these plugs are grounded and some are not. Each stateroom will have one or two 115V razor plugs available, generally in the bathroom.
What are the amenities available?
Your ship has hair dryers for guest use, as do most hotels. Your stateroom amenities include shower gel, shampoo, lotion, shower cap and vanity kit.
Do you have any packing tips?
What to bring
We suggest bringing comfortable, casual clothing. Ties and jackets are not required; there are no formal nights although some guests choose dressier clothing for the Captain’s Dinner. Consider dressing respectfully when visiting places of worship and other religious sites where you may be denied entry if wearing clothing considered to be inappropriate or too revealing. Your Tour Escort can assist you with any questions. Also, please consider baggage weight restrictions on the intra-China flights when packing.
Here is a short list of items you might want to bring with you:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Dressier shoes
- Collapsible umbrella/lightweight rain gear
- Lightweight jacket/warm sweater/sweatshirt
- Sunglasses, sun hat or visor
- Toiletries (including medical remedies)
- Warm coat, gloves and water-resistant footwear (as needed for cooler months)
Pack in your carry-on baggage
We suggest you bring copies of your key travel documents (passport information page, airline tickets, credit card numbers and insurance information) and carry them separately in case you lose your originals.
You might also want to consider packing the following items:
- All needed medications, including prescriptions, in their original, labeled containers
- Eyeglasses, contacts, contact lens solution
- Important papers and travel documents
- Camera gear, film or extra memory cards, extra batteries
- Valuables
Optional items
Here is a list of optional items to consider bringing with you:
- Electric converter/adapter for North American appliances (220V)
- Travel alarm clock, travel flashlight, binoculars, anti-bacterial wipes and/or hand sanitizer
- Small calculator for foreign exchange calculations
- Travel journal/notepad and/or reading material
- Small, basic sewing kit/extra buttons; pack scissors in checked bags
- Address list or pre-addressed labels for sending postcards
NOTE: Most hotels and Reception onboard have hair dryers available for guest use. Also, laundry service (no dry cleaning) is available on board for a fee.
Can you accommodate my dietary needs?
We can in most cases. Every meal has vegetarian options on the menu, and our chefs are able to prepare low-salt or gluten-free cuisine. Guests requiring special diets such as diabetic or low-cholesterol meals must alert Viking Cruises one month prior to departure and inform the Maître d’ when on board. The chefs will make every effort to accommodate these requests.
Are the ships nonsmoking? Are there smoking areas?
All Viking ship interiors, staterooms and verandas are nonsmoking; this policy also applies to e-cigarettes. Each ship has an outdoor smoking area, generally on the Sun Deck.
Will there be a safe in my room?
Yes. All staterooms include a complimentary safe for you to store any valuables.
Is there a “dress code” on the ship?
Dress during the day is casual including shorts (if the season is warm), trousers or jeans and comfortable shoes for walking tours. There are no “formal nights” and recommended evening dress is “elegant casual” such as a dress, skirt or slacks with a sweater or blouse for ladies; for gentlemen, trousers and a collared shirt. Ties and jackets are optional. We suggest you pack comfortable walking shoes, dressier shoes, a collapsible umbrella/lightweight rain gear; items you can layer like lightweight jackets/sweaters; sunglasses, a sun hat/visor, sunscreen; and toiletries including a travel-sized hand sanitizer. Depending on the season and destination, you may also want to add a warm coat, gloves and water-resistant footwear.
