Watch the movie at the Visitor Center as it reveals the secrets of the rebels’ daily life, the story of the excavations, and how Masada became one of Israel’s most important symbols.

Vast underground labyrinths of man-made rooms are being systematically cleaned and give evidence of underground industrial complexes dating from the Hellenistic period. Remains of olive oil production, weaving installations, water cisterns and baths confirm a high level of material culture. This site offers a wealth of discoveries and practical experience for those who want to "dig". You’ll discover pottery from the time of the Maccabees and get an appreciation for the tedious work of mount olives viewarchaeologists!
We then return to Jerusalem and visit the Mount of Olives, with its panoramic view of the Old City and its ancient Jewish cemetery. Then we continue to the Western Wall, the only remaining portion of the Herodian Temple standing and Judaism’s most sacred site. Continue on to Tiberias and check in at our hotel located on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. The remainder of the afternoon will be free to walk the local market or take a dip in the hotel pool.

Vacation Day 6 - Wednesday: Tiberias
SafedBegin our day with a visit of Capernaum to see the ancient Synagogue dating back to the 5th century. Then stop in the ancient capital city of Jewish mysticism - Safed, where the Kabbalah faith has originated. The old part of town consists of narrow cobblestone alleys revealing artists' galleries, medieval synagogues, private homes and small guest houses.
Continue on to Hazor, a Canaanite city rebuilt by King Solomon. Visit the Hazor Museum filled with artifacts found in the area through 21 historic layers. Then ascend the Golan Heights to visit the Tel Dan Nature Reserve where we will see old-water springs gush right up from the ground, forming the Dan River, which is one of the three principal sources of the Jordan River. Then we return to Tiberias for a relaxing evening.

Vacation Day 7 - Thursday: Tiberias - Haifa
Akko AcreDepart Tiberias and travel northwest to Akko (Acre) on the Mediterranean shore. Explore the Upper Galilee and step back in time as we walk the ancient Phoenician and Crusader seaport city of Akko/Acre. The former capital of the Crusader kingdom and the birthplace of the Bahai religion is a UNESCO Site. Tour the newly excavated Knights Halls, the Al-Jazzar Mosque, the bathhouse and the new ethnic museum, built right into the rooms of the old wall. There will be time to explore the colorful Oriental markets Israel Rosh Hnikra Grottoand city walls.
Then continue north to Rosh Hanikra where we will descend by cable car to the cool grottos of the sea sculpted caves, carved out of chalk cliffs by the force of the beating waves. Walk through the grottos with the salty spray on your faces, and wonder at the fainting colors that come from the blue lagoon waters.

Our vacation continues on to Tel Aviv and check-in at our hotel.

Tel Aviv whiteVacation Day 9 - Saturday: Tel Aviv
This morning we will visit the Ayalon Institute, a fascinating museum built on the site of a secret ammunition factory that was operated by the Haganah during the British Mandate. There is no doubt that the efforts of the Haganah members who worked here under harsh conditions played a crucial role in the success of the War of Independence and David Ben Gurion termed their efforts Israel Tel Aviv Fountainas heroic.

Blarney CastleVacation Day 3 - Dublin - Cork - Killarney
What would a trip to Ireland be without kissing the Blarney Stone? Say goodbye to Dublin as we travel with our driver/guide to County Cork, the home of Blarney Castle. Blarney Castle was built nearly six hundred years ago by one of Ireland’s greatest chieftains, Cormac MacCarthy. Its fame might have something to do with the Blarney Stone, the legendary Stone of Eloquence, found at the top of our Tower. Once upon a time, visitors had to be held by the ankles and lowered head first over the battlements, today the Stone itself is still set in the wall below the battlements. To kiss it, one killarneyhas to lean backwards (holding on to an iron railing) from the parapet walk. The prize is a real one as once kissed the stone bestows the gift of eloquence.
In the late afternoon arrive in Killarney, Ireland's most historic and compact medieval city with picturesque alleyways and array of historical buildings. There are many workshops of local arts and craftsmen, ice cream and sweet shops, and a variety of restaurants to be found in Killarney but the real soul of the town is its pubs. Tonight we will take a walk around the town and check-out the local music and food in one or two of the 50 pubs located here

Vacation Day 4 - Killarney - Ring of Kerry
ring of kerry
Today explore the ‘Ring of Kerry’, 105 miles of some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery. The Ring of Kerry offers magnificent panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline of southwest Ireland contrasting with the rich and varied vegetation nurtured by the Gulf Stream The route takes us through many small villages such as Sneem, famous for its multicolored houses, and through the mountains to Molls Gap and Ladies View, which offer superb views of the famous lakes of Killarney.
The founding partners of Killarney Brewing Company have restored the old Killarney Mineral Water drinks facility to its former glory; specializing in the production of what they believe is Ireland’s finest range of craft beers. Check out the Brewhouse up close and personal with tour guides  that are true Killarney characters. The tour, lasting approx 1 hour consists of a “cheeky” introductory film, a walking tour of the brewery, a meet the brewer and finally a complimentary beer tasting and storytelling.

Vacation Day 5 - Killarney - Adare - Limerick
Adare Ireland
Snuggled in a wooden and lush countryside setting, Adare is widely regarded as being Ireland’s prettiest and most picturesque village. Step back in time and experience the architectural wealth and scenic beauty of Adare village. The mix of centuries is blended into everyday life as some of the thatched limerickcottages are home to arts and crafts shops.
Our vacation continues onto Limerick to discover the history of Ireland’s third largest city on our walking tour. Stroll by buildings ancient and historical, middle-aged and stately, modern and exciting on both sides of the River Shannon. See the famous King John's Castle, King's Island, Irish Town, Georgian Limerick and Newtown Perry.
Tonight we check out a few of the local pubs for food, live music and fun.

Vacation Day 6 - Limerick - Cliffs of Mohr - Galway
cliffs of moherTravel to the coast for a visit to the Cliffs of Mohr. These are the most majestic cliffs in Ireland and rise from the Atlantic Ocean at 705 feet and extend for over 2300 feet long. From this height, you can admire the Aran Islands, the Connemara Mountains and listen to the many sea birds that colonize this place from springtime on.
Continue to Galway via the Burren Region, a strange and unique region in Europe. “Burren” means “larges stones” – in fact its name describes this impressive scenery perfectly well. The Trad on promBurren is a High-Plateau of porous limestone. No trees grow here, no land is covering the stone. But the Burren is not as deserted as we believe. You will also discover the testimonies of its rich history such as countless castles and monastic ruins.

Vacation Day 7 - Galway / Aran Islands
Adare IrelandAfter breakfast we take a short bus ride to the Ros a’ Mhíl Port where we board our ferry to Inis Mór, the biggest of the 3 Aran Islands. NorthWest across Galway Bay our sailing time to Inis Mór is 45 minutes. The island, only 7.5 miles in length and 1.86 miles in width has a population of about 1,000 people spread over 14 villages. Our mini bus tour with a local well informed on the islands' history and statistics tour guide will be about three hours long, with about an hour allowed at Dún Aonghasa (Dun Aengus).
Dún Aonghasa is a prehistoric fort perched on the cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Named dun aengus fortafter a mythical Irish king and pre-Christian god, the semi-circular stone fort dates back to the Bronze Age and offers insight into ancient Ireland. Recent excavation found evidence of human activity dating back over two and a half thousand years. Covering an area of 14 acres, the interior of the hill fort is divided into an outer, middle and inner enclosure by three curved walls terminating at the cliff face.
Tonight we check out a few of the local pubs for food, live music and fun.

London is one of the world's great cities, vibrant London manages to shine in the grayest weather and its diversity defies a simple definition. This sprawling city has drawn people for centuries, looking for something and finding the unexpected. London's landscape is steeped in British history and tradition. The classic sights of Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben could not be more English, and are a permanent symbol of England's former greatness.

Paris is confident that it's the world's most beautiful, fashionable and artistic capital. Visit just once and it's hard to disagree. Walking through the heart of Paris you often feel like you've wandered onto an art film set; much of the city has been scrubbed clean in recent years and it's never looked more fabulous. Its inhabitants are the definition of style, its architecture includes some of the most spectacular buildings and monuments in Europe and the ambiance is by turns exciting and alluring.

Amsterdam, with its canals, distinctive architecture and liberal culture, is one of Europe's most fun and laid-back cities and the capital of the Netherlands and has something to suit every taste. The cobbled streets are made for wandering, or cycling, and enjoying the typical Dutch landscapes of boat-lined canals and architectural landmarks such as the Oude Kerk and Beurs van Berlage. Of course the best way to see the city is from a boat and over three million people enjoyed a canal cruise in Amsterdam last year.

Electricity in Italy, as in the rest of Europe, comes out of the wall socket at 220 volts alternating at a 50 cycles per second. In North America, electricity comes out of the wall socket at 110 volts, alternating at 60 cycles per second. Not only the voltages and frequencies, but the sockets themselves are different. Italy's outlets are two (or three) round-prong socket. You will need an electric converter.

Throughout the year, the climate in Rome, Florence and the entire Tuscan region is very mild. The summers can be dry and very hot but averages in the low 80s F.. Spring and Fall cools off to the mid 60s and can be rainy but there are still lots of sunny days. In the winter the days are sunny and cool, around 50° but at night it can get very cold.

The Amalfi Coast has a typically Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers where temperatures can reach 30C (86F) in the peak months of July and August, and the average temperature does not usually dip below 23C (74 F)

What to Pack for Your Vacation

One suitcase and an overnight bag are allowed. The suitcase should have good, sturdy wheels as you will need to roll them to the hotels, which are very close to the train stations. Please check individual airlines for weight limits.

The most important item you will need on your vacation to Italy is footwear. Pack comfortable sturdy shoes for walking in the historical center's of Rome, Florence & Venice. The streets will be cobbled stone in Rome, uneven in Venice and there are lots of bridges to cross.

All religious sites like the Basilica require everyone to wear clothing that covers both shoulders and knees. For men a long pair of shorts that reach the knees and a shirt. Ladies a shawl is great to cover the shoulders and for cooler evenings.

Phones:

Nowadays it’s relatively easy to use your own mobile phone in Italy, however, the costs of both making and receiving phone calls can be high. Texting is a more economical way to contact others. Please check with your carrier for availability and rates.

While in Italy, if you would like to use your phone for the internet, only when there is free internet, turn your phone to airline mode.

Calling Italy from the United States explained:

011 - US exit code; must be dialed first for all international calls made from the USA or Canada
39 - Country Code for Italy
area code - 2 - 4 digits
phone number - 5 - 8 digits

Shopping in Italy

Rome: Shopping in Rome is fantastic, no matter if you are searching for haute couture, antiques, or a bargain. Some of the biggest names in Italian fashion - Fendi, Valentino, Bulgari - come from Rome and you will find their flagship stores, as well as boutiques by Prada, Armani, Versace, Ferragamo, Cavalli, Gucci, and many others, along the streets near the Spanish Steps. Via Condotti is Rome's main drag for haute couture and window shopping, though you'll also find high fashion boutiques on Via Borgognona, Via Frattina, Via Sistina, and Via Bocca de Leone.

There are several good outdoor markets, flea markets, and places to buy antiques in Rome. You'll find everything from antique housewares to secondhand clothing and music to original art, jewelry, posters, furniture, etc.

Florence is one of Italy's top cities for shopping and is known for designer fashions, leather goods, gold, and fine stationery. Beyond designer duds and vintage finds, Florence is a great city to purchase leather goods. Gold is a classic item often purchased in Florence, just cross Florence's most famous bridge, and you'll see gold sellers lining each side of it. Whether the gold here is a bargain is unclear, but you can find high quality, unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets, watches, rings, and more.

Venice is famous for local crafts that have been produced here for centuries and are hard to get elsewhere: the glassware from Murano, the delicate lace from Burano, and the cartapesta (papier-mâché) Carnevale masks you'll find in all the local stores.

Amalfi:  Shopping for ceramics on the Amalfi Coast is one of the real treats of exploring this gorgeous coastline in southern Italy’s Campania region. The Amalfi Coast is a vibrant landscape of pastel colored houses, steeply terraced gardens and rocky cliffs plummeting down to the Mediterranean Sea. Filling this scene with even more color and life are the brilliant ceramic shops you’ll find in each town along the Coast.

Apulia: the products for shopping are localized and each province has its own special products. In the Foggia province, food processing is quite famous. In Barletta visitors would find textiles, furniture, wooden artifacts and footwear. In the area of Murge visitors would again find wooden artifacts and furniture etc. Locally made products of footwear, food, clothing and textiles are popular gifts.

Local Foods

Rome: There is no lack of places to eat, from family run trattorias and pizzerias, to fancier, gourmet restaurants. Food is important to the life and culture of all Italy. While many try to reproduce Italian dishes, there's nothing like enjoying a dinner in Rome. The best Italian chefs appreciate simplicity and have learned to complement relatively plain recipes with rich, flavorful tastes.

There are so many Gelaterias that you will never tire of trying to figure out which one is the best.

Florence: Enjoying great food and excellent wine in Florence is not hard to do. The food is simple and abundant with local produce, mellow cheeses and grilled meats. The meals range from the original and traditional to more adventurous. You can try one of the restaurants recommended in the guide books or just walk down any street in Florence and select a trattoria, wine bar or restaurant that seems appealing and you'll surely enjoy a nice meal.

Venice: Chinese and Indian restaurants have a small presence, but Venice is the place to go for excellent seafood and good Northern Italian cooking. Among the typical seasoning of Venetian cuisine, you will find butter, olive oil, sunflower oil, vinegar, kren, senape, mostarda, salsa verde.

Amalfi Coast: Food and wine is a way of life on the Bay of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. The local cuisine is mainly Neapolitan and is famous for its use of tomatoes, lemons, fresh vegetables, red peppers and olives. You will find world-famous specialties like pizza, pasta, the pastiera cake, buffalo mozzarella cheese and fresh Mediterranean seafood.

Puglia: Consisting mainly of farmland and coastline, Puglia is famous for its fresh produce and delicious dishes. Food fairs date back to the days when farmers used to gather in towns to buy and sell produce. Today’s celebrations are dictated by tradition, what is in season, and the town’s whim; they reach a peak during the holiday season of July and August.

Machu Picchu & Lake Titicaca Adventure
40's, 50's, 60's+ Singles Vacations

November 7 - November 16, 2026 - $2875

Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, is a fortress city of the ancient Incas. The ruins are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top, erecting hundreds of stone structures in the 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small but extraordinary city. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been used by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and about 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation.
