Machu Picchu, rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham, is a fortress city of the ancient Incas. The ruins are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world. While the Inca people certainly used the Andean mountain top, erecting hundreds of stone structures in the 1400's, legends and myths indicate that Machu Picchu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as a sacred place from a far earlier time. Whatever its origins, the Inca turned the site into a small but extraordinary city. Invisible from below and completely self-contained, surrounded by agricultural terraces sufficient to feed the population, and watered by natural springs, Machu Picchu seems to have been used by the Inca as a secret ceremonial city. Two thousand feet above the Urubamba river, the cloud shrouded ruins have palaces, baths, temples, storage rooms and about 150 houses, all in a remarkable state of preservation.

Their homes and boats are also made from this material.

Vacation Day 1: Arrival in Guayaquil (Friday, April 17, 2026)
You will be picked up at the airport and taken to your hotel. Guayaquil is located on the western bank of the Río Guayas. The metropolis is the country’s largest city and its commercial center. The port is an important stop for international imports and exports on the Pacific coast. Stroll around the new riverfront “Malecón 2000” that combines green areas and shopping malls along the city’s coastline and has become Guayaquil’s landmark. Don’t miss the picturesque Las Peñas district and explore the city’s growing art scene.
Vacation Day 2: Guayaquil - "City Tour" ( Saturday, April 18, 2026)
Start your Guayaquil City Tour at the Simon Bolívar Park. Here, visit the classic gothic style Cathedral, which was completely rebuilt after the 1896 fires that destroyed many of the city’s beautiful wooden buildings. Located north of the city center, the Las Peñas district is the oldest and most picturesque. Admire the 400-year-old colonial houses that have now become art galleries or workshops and stroll around the open-air painting and sculpture exhibitions. Then, as you walk along the beautiful boardwalk “Malecón 2000” by the Guayas River, appreciate the river and city views.
End your tour with a visit to the Historical Park, located on the banks of the Guayas River. The park was built in 1997 as a theme park and is aimed to exhibit the history and culture of the old province of Guayaquil. The site also recreates the architecture, traditions and the urban and rural life, mixed with a beautiful natural park full of a diverse vegetation that form different natural and wildlife areas with their respective flora and fauna.
Vacation Day 3: Guayaquil-Galapagos Islands (Sunday, April 19, 2026)
In the morning you will be taken to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands.
Galapagos - the Enchanted Islands - doubtlessly are the highlight of every Ecuador trip and you also should not miss a visit, for it is the most unique living museum of evolutionary changes and you would get to know a variety of exotic species endemic to this Archipelago! Galapagos is the perfect setting to experience the evolutionary changes, which have led to a new understanding of live on earth. Animals unafraid of man and so different from any others found elsewhere, make visitors wonder about their existence on our planet. Among the animals found, are the different species of giant “Galapagos” tortoises that gave the islands their name, a variety of birds and marine mammals such as iguanas, sea lions, dolphins, whales as well as a great number of fish. Among the flora, the most distinctive are mangroves and endemic cacti -to mention only some of them!
Your guide will welcome you at the Baltra airport. Then, take a bus and a ferry to the Santa Cruz Island.
Santa Cruz Island is the second largest island and is located in the middle of the archipelago. Colonized in the 1920’s, Puerto Ayora is the main human settlement with the most important harbor in the Galápagos. After Isabela Island, Santa Cruz is home to the second largest population of giant tortoises (about 3000). Discover the island’s beautiful beaches and bays with sea lions, marine turtles, and seabirds. Or, take your adventures off the beaten track to its remote highlands and verdant landscapes.
Ride through the highlands and observe the change in vegetation: from arid landscapes filled with cacti to the lush rainforest. Take a short stop and observe the twin craters. These sinkholes were created by the collapse of a volcanic roof caused by tectonic movements and erosion. The Giant Tortoise Reserve in the Santa Cruz highlands is one of the few places you can see these giants in their natural habitat. The large, pre-historic looking animals can be seen as you walk along the trails during their migration from the coast to the highlands. It is also one of the best sites to observe the short-eared owl, another endemic specie from the Galápagos.
Enjoy lunch in a typical hacienda and continue your journey towards Puerto Ayora.
Vacation Day 4: Galapagos Islands (Monday, April 20, 2026)
From Puerto Ayora,Leisurely walk to Tortuga Bay, one of the longest white sandy beaches in the archipelago. Along its shores, keep an eye out for marine iguanas, sea turtles, and migratory birds. On the west, a rocky edge divides the beach and creates a calm cove ideal to swim around the bay. Enjoy your afternoon at leisure. Bring your bathing suit and snorkel gear (also available to rent) and enjoy the day in the water at one of the best Galapagos snorkel sites Tortuga Laguna or spend the afternoon shopping back in town.
Vacation Day 5 Galapagos Islands (Tuesday, April 21, 2026)
During a full day boat excursion you’ll visit one of the islands North Seymour, South Plazas, Bartholomew or Santa Fe. Each of the islands has its own significant beauties to offer and regardless which you’ll visit, you’ll definitely enjoy your stay. Lunch on board and snorkelling activity included. North Seymour is a flat island that was uplifted from the sea by underground seismic activity. Located North of Baltra, it is one of the best places to see Blue Footed Boobies and Magnificent Frigate birds. Blue Footed Boobies are found on the flat area near the coast of this island (they nest from May to November). Continuing the trail to the interior, one stumbles upon the biggest congregation of Magnificent Frigate birds in the island. While on North Seymour, there is a high chance of seeing a great show of acrobatic flight, namely a Frigate bird robbing a booby, a gull or even another Frigate bird the food. South Plazas Island, where a large colony of sea lions lounges daily in the equatorial sun. Soon you will notice their subtly diabolic grins and wonder what they find so humorous; you only hope the joke isn't on you! South Plazas also boasts excellent examples of typicalGalapaganean flora such as the towering cacti "trees" that form the principal diet for boththe land iguanas and the cactus finch. Other birds that may flutter by include lava gulls, yellow warblers and red-billed tropicbirds with their elaborate tails.
Vacation Day 6 Galapagos Islands ( Wednesday, April 22, 2026)
Another fun filled day out on the water. Full day boat excursion visiting one of the islands North Seymour, South Plazas, Bartholomew or Santa Fe. Bartholomew, a tiny island of just 1.2 km 2 , offers the visitor one of the most spectacular views of the archipelago. Bartholomew is located near the west coast of James, on the other side of Sullivan Bay. It is famous for its Pinnacle Rock, which is the representative characteristic of Bartholomew. The climb to the 114 m high peak is both challenging and worth-doing. On your way up, you will encounter different formations of volcanic origin including spatter and tuff cones, lava flows and lava tubes. Once on the summit, there is a spectacular view of the surroundings. Bartholomew is also a must for the visitor interested in geology. Penguins are common in the bay area.
Vacation Day 7 - Galapagos Islands (Thursday, April 23, 2026)
Visit the Charles Darwin Research Center which was inaugurated 1994 in Puerto Ayora. Over 200 scientists and volunteers are active in the conservation and research projects for the most famous resident of the Galápagos: the Giant Tortoise. Stroll around the impressive giant prickly- pear cactus forest or visit the baby turtles that are affectionately cared for until they can be repatriated. Learn about the tortoises’ different life stages: from incubation, hatching, and growth periods. Head to the port for our transfer from Santa Cruz Island to Isabela Island by speedboat.
Isabela Island is the archipelago’s biggest island and occupies about 60% of the land area. About 1 million years ago, the merger of 6 volcanoes formed the island: Cerro Azul, Sierra Negra (Santa Tomás), Alcedo, Ecuador, Darwin, and Wolf. Today, all except the Ecuador volcano are active, making it a very active place on Earth. The most recent volcanic activity was on June 26 th 2018, when the Sierra Negra volcano erupted. Isabela’s unique landscape, lava fields, beautiful beaches, and relaxing atmosphere offer travelers a matchless experience in nature.
Vacation Day 8 - Galapagos Islands (Friday, April 24, 2026)
From Puerto Villamil, take a short boat ride to a small rocky islet known as “Las Tintoreras”, one of the island’s most beautiful sites. Here, sharks can be seen resting in the lava canals. Observe marine iguanas and playful sea lions on the sandy beach. Put your mask and snorkel on to explore the underwater world filled with colorful fish, sea turtles, and much more. The Wetlands Route is a 5km series of trails that can be explored by foot or by bike. Choose to explore different sites like lagoons, beaches, viewpoints, mangroves, and many more beautiful hidden spots.
Vacation Day 9 - Galapagos Islands (Saturday, April 25, 2026)
Enjoy your day at leisure. Spend the day in the water or grabbing those last minute souvenirs. Get together this evening for our farewell dinner as we celebrate our last night on this wonderful vacation and all the friendships and memories we have created.

Ecuador Amazon River Cruise Singles Vacation Daily Itinerary
Vacation Day 1: Arrive Quito
Plan to arrive in Quito, Ecuador today and take the provided shuttle to our hotel. To give everyone a chance to arrive no activities are planned.
Tonight meet your hostess in our hotel lobby at 7:00pm for an optional dinner.
Vacation Day 2: Quito City Tour
After breakfast we begin our tour of Quito, the perfect city for seeing fascinating panoramas, churches, domes and roofs that are history relics. Quito, the capital of Ecuador, was founded in the 16th century on the ruins of an Inca city and stands at an altitude of 9.350 feet. Despite the 1917 earthquake, the city has the best-preserved, least altered historic Centre in Latin America. The architecture and rich interiors, are pure examples of the ' School of Quito', which is a fusion of Spanish, Italian, Moorish, Flemish and indigenous art. After exploring the Old Town, we'll understand why Quito was the world's first city named to UNESCO's Cultural Heritage list.
Tonight let's enjoy dinner at a local restaurant close to our hotel.
Vacation Day 3: Quito to Coca (Amazon) - Napo River - Yasuni National Park
This morning our group departs Quito and drives to the airport. After a short 30-minute flight to the frontier town of Coca (Francisco de Orellana), we transfer to the boat dock, where we will embark on a motorized canoe trip down river about 1 ½ hour, to board the M/V Manatee Amazon Explorer. The Manatee Explorer is 90 feet long, 24 feet wide and accommodates 30 lucky guests in comfortable cabins with private bathrooms and running hot water, individual air conditioning, large dining room, inviting bar and lounge area, panoramic terrace, delicious cuisine and the finest multilingual naturalist guides.
Throughout the journey we have a chance to admire the rainforest landscape and banks of the great Napo River. Immediately after boarding the M/V Manatee, we will continue navigating downstream. This will be our first opportunities to enjoy the exciting features of our cruise ship: the spacious social areas, comfortable suites, and an observation deck that offers spectacular views. An evening walk is organized after sunset; giving us the opportunity to discover the forest’s nocturnal activity and listen to the incessant sounds of nature.
Vacation Day 4: Amazon - Border With Peru (The Heart of Yasuni)
After a delicious breakfast, we disembark on land for our first daylight close-and-personal tropical rainforest experience, where we will learn about the relationship between plants and animals while closely watching out for samples of Amazonia’s fascinating biodiversity at every turn. After lunch, the M/V Manatee navigates to one of the most pristine and little explored sections of Ecuadorian Amazonia, home to the legendary pink river dolphin, black caiman and anaconda. We may also find river turtles and various species of monkeys, as well as the primitive Hoatzin, a one-of-a-kind bird locally known as "the Stinky Turkey". The only way to actually visit this flooded ecosystem is by canoe, a ride that will reveal the beauty of a lush jungle world.
Vacation Day 5: Amazon - Meet the Locals and Island Exploration
Admire the amazing scenery as we enjoy breakfast on board. Then we will visit a school located on the banks of the Napo River, where we have the opportunity to interact with the children of the area and learn about the educational system of a remote jungle community in Ecuador.
We return to the M/V Manatee for lunch and a moment to relax while we navigate upstream. On board there will be a lecture and documentary screening, and if time permits, learn about (and make) typical handicrafts of the area. In the afternoon, we explore one of the largest river islands of the Napo River.
Vacation Day 6: Amazon - Observation Tower and Limoncocha Biological Reserve
This morning after breakfast, we visit an observation tower 100-feet high, built against a giant kapok tree. From the top of the tower, we will be blessed with this unique perspective of the forest, looming over the treetops and the greatness of the Amazon Basin.
In the afternoon, we visit Limoncocha Biological Reserve, a fascinating protected area where more than 478 bird species and several monkey species have been recorded. This activity will extend into the evening, when we will have a chance to spot black caiman with the help of our flashlights. After our adventure we return to the M/V Manatee for our final Amazon dinner.
Vacation Day 7: Amazon to Quito
In the morning we disembark the M/V Manatee and transfer by motorized canoe to Coca. Relax and enjoy the scenery on our final Amazon ride. Then board our plane for the short flight to Quito, considered the continent's most beautiful city. Our driver will be waiting to transfer us to our hotel.
A night at leisure back in civilization.
Vacation Day 8: Quito - Otavalo Indian Market
Today we travel north to a valley deep within the Andes to the world famous Otavalo Indian market. Saturday is market day and the town is crowded with traditional dressed locals and people from surrounding highland villages. Everyone is busy bargaining for traditional Ecuadorian crafts, weavings and textiles. Warm jackets, woven bags, pillow covers and wall hangings are great souvenirs. Woodcarving, musical instruments and jewelry are also popular.
In the afternoon, visit Cotacachi, famous for its handcrafted leather articles. If time allows, the adventure ends with a visit to beautiful Cuicocha Lake, a flooded volcanic crater with two floating islets, before returning to Quito.
Tonight enjoy our farewell dinner at a local-flavor restaurant.
Vacation Day 9: Quito - Tour Ends
Sad to say but our Amazon River Cruise Singles Vacation has come to an end. After breakfast it is time to say goodbye to all your new travel friends as we make our way to the airport. Your singles adventure doesn't have to end if you are continuing on to the Experience the Galapagos Singles Vacation.
The Amazon Experience
Bird Watching There is no need to embellish the marvelous reality of Amazonia in terms of birds. With over 580 recorded species, including raucous parrots, glorious eagles, patterned herons, blindingly bright tanagers and cotingas, peculiarly unique hoatzins and umbrellabirds and everything in between. Ecuadorian Amazonia is quite attractive because of its accessibility. But one of the great things about birding with Manatee, is the fact that we can travel across the gamut of Amazonian ecosystems during a single trip, from the flooded forests of the Peruvian Border, the lake habitats of Limoncocha and Pañacocha, and extremely remote areas near the Peruvian border, to the record-breaking ever-diverse Yasuní, giving us the most complete version possible of bird life in the Ecuadorian Amazon Basin. We walk forests, climb observation towers, hide behind blinds, or silently canoe inside black water streams and out in open blackwater lakes, seeking out as many birds as possible: you’ll be amazed at the variety, beauty and fascinating singularities of hundreds of different species. |
Jungle Hikes A lot goes on on the ground in the rainforest. Some creatures are perfectly camouflaged, like walking sticks, sphinx moths, dried-leaf katydids, and glass frogs, others are quite the opposite, bright and perky like rainbow katydids and orchid bees. We walk and hike the rainforests under towering trees — as towering as a city full of skyscrapers—, the light trickling down in layers, smelling the aromas of a million different plants, feeling the presence of innumerable creatures filling every corner of the forest. The understory is a world within itself… Every plant holds a universe. Imagine every tree… imagine the entire forest… We program different walks for both inside forest exploration or lounging riverbanks and lakes, on longer, shorter, harder or easier trails, depending on interest or difficulty level, together with guides that enlighten us with their knowledge on life in the forest, the faunal communities that inhabit them, the medicinal plants that grow inside them, and much more. |
Observation Tower Observation towers are spectacular vantage points that give us a sense of the forest’s overall scale. We climb several hundred steps (over 165 feet) up one of the enormous emergent trees traveling through the vertical stratification created by the forest’s spectacular height and diversity. We move towards the light, reaching the subcanopy and later the canopy, noticing the different biological realities of each level, and then higher still, above the tree tops to a most spectacular view from where one can spot nesting birds, undulating mountain ridges, or monkeys swinging from trees. There is amazing activity up in this “neck of the woods”. Scientists have explored little of these upper areas of the forest, mainly because of the difficulty of getting to them: which means thousands upon thousands of hectares of undiscovered territory. |
Canoe Excursions Perhaps the closest sensation to penetrating paradise when visiting the Amazon Basin takes place on canoe, inching down a black-water stream with the forest gyrating above you in a million sounds… These waters are full of vitamins and minerals, and obtain their color from the vegetation that falls in them. You may suddenly surprise a pair of macaws preening each other, monkeys cackling while they feed or find enormous 6.5 feet long Giant Otters swimming up a creek with the entire family. The ancient inhabitants of these lands mastered the region’s waterways and we will be able to experience, with them, the inspiring, ageless practice of paddling in the midst of forest life. At night we can seek out caiman and in the day the spectacular Pink River Dolphins or the elusive Manatee. |

Vacation Day 3: Delhi - Agra (Tuesday, October 28, 2025)
In the morning we travel south 3 1/2 hours to Agra along the Yamuna Expressway. The earliest reference to Agra is in the epic The Mahabharat. Ptolemy, Alexander the Great's geographer, also called it Agra. It was, however, in the medieval period that Agra earned prominence as a capital city under the Mughals. Its many wonderful monuments include the Taj Mahal, the greatest of them all. In the Afternoon visit the Taj Mahal with a guide. The Taj Mahal is simply beautiful—not just in design and technique but also in desire and intent. It was built as a monument to love, a manifestation of life's most powerful emotion. When his wife died unexpectedly, Emperor Shahjahan vowed to honor her with a memorial of unmatched beauty. He commissioned the world's best craftsmen and 20,000 workers to build this beautiful structure. The result is a delicately carved, white marble jewel that seems to float on a sea of red limestone. The Taj Mahal is generally considered the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements of Persian, Turkish, Indian, and Islamic architectural styles. In 1983, the Taj became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also, visit the Agra fort. Near the gardens of the Taj Mahal stands the important 16th-century Mughal monument known as the Red Fort of Agra. This powerful fortress of red sandstone encompasses, within its 2.5-km walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers, which comprises many fairy-tale palaces (Jehangir Mahal and Khas Mahal),, halls of public and private, an audience (Diwan-i-Khas and Diwan-i-Aam)) ; and two lovely mosques
Vacation Day 4: Agra - Fathepur Sikri - Ranthanbhor (Wednesday, October 29, 2025)
Early in the morning we travel west about 1 1/2 hours to Fatehpur Sikri, the once-fabled Mogul capital that has taken on a sleeping beauty quality, lying quietly but wonderfully preserved. The Great Mughal Emperor Akbar built Fathepur Sikri (the City of Victory) during the second half of the 16th century as the capital of the Mughal Empire. A large number of masons and stone carvers worked hard on an area that was over two miles long and a mile wide. Using the locally available red sand stone, they created a complex of monuments and temples, all in a uniform architectural style, including one of the largest mosques in India, the Jama Masjid. Some fifteen years after the work was completed, it was realized that there was a lack of adequate water supply. The pristine complex was abandoned, and the capital shifted back to Agra. Continue to Rantanbhor, about 3 ½ hours south-west, arriving for lunch at the hotel. Ranthanbhor encompasses nearly 152 square miles of dry deciduous forest in southwestern Rajasthan, and in the heart of this forest, the
Aravali and Vindhya ranges meet. The park derives its name from the fort of Ranthanbhor, which sits on a rocky outcrop in the forest. The landscape is dotted with ancient Banyan trees, Dhok and Pipal trees, clusters of mango trees, and crisscrossed with evergreen belts. The terrain is made up of massive rock formations, steep scarps, perennial lakes and streams, and forest that suddenly opens up into large areas of savannah. For a relatively small area, the park has a rich diversity of fauna and flora. The species list includes 300 trees, 50 aquatic plants, 272 birds, 12 reptiles (including the marsh crocodile), amphibians, and 30 mammals. Other than the tiger, for which the park is most famous, other predators found are leopards, striped hyenas, jackals, caracals, and jungle cats. Also seen are sloth bear, sambar deer, chital (spotted) deer, nilgai (blue bull) antelope, wild boar, chinkara (Indian) gazelle, Indian hare, mongoose, common langur, palm civet, palm squirrel, porcupine, and monitor lizard. This supreme sacrifice has been called 'Jauhar' and epitomizes the fiery spirit of the Rajputs of the day. The honey-colored Fort is built on a hilltop and within are the remains of many temples and monuments. The 15th-century, 9-story Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory) is built from red sandstone and white marble. We will continue to travel west for about 2½ hours to Udaipur. Vacation Day 9: Kumbalgarh - Pushkar (Monday, November 3, 2025)
After breakfast, we will travel north for about 5 hours to the holy city of Pushkar. One of Hinduism’s holy cities associated with Lord Brahma, Pushkar, is in the center-east part of Rajasthan, on the western side of the Aravalli mountains, and is centuries old, having been mentioned in ancient texts like the Ramanaya, Mahabharata,Mahabharat and Puranas, as well as in many other texts dated to the 1st millennium. Pushkar comes alive during the month of Kartik of the Hindu calendar (corresponding to October or November), when the full moon night is celebrated in honor of the day when God incarnated as the fish form to save humanity from destruction by a deluge. For about 10 days prior to the full moon, thousands gather around the lake at Pushkar in a dazzling display of colors and a frenzied burst of activity. Most people associate the Pushkar Fair with the world's largest camel fair, but it is much more than that; it is an unparalleled experience of the vibrancy of the entire state of Rajasthan in one place.A staggering number of camels travel their way across the golden sands of Rajasthan to collect
at Pushkar for the week-long fair devoted to them. Numerous cows and sheep also come to the animal fair, and completing the scene are thousands of men, women, and children who come with their beasts, suddenly inhabiting the barren plain, with the camel providing the backdrop, proving a scene right in Biblical Times. The contrast to the dull desert landscape is the riot of colors: the large gaudy turbans of the males and the loud hues of the pleated ghagaras (ankle-length skirts) of the women, with bangles by the armful, bejeweled from head to toe, add charm and zest to occasion. Lunch at the hotel, and in the evening, walk through the colorful area and experience the joie de vivre of the occasion. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

The city was founded in 1727 by the astronomer-king, Sawai Jai Singh II, and built according to the Shilpa Shastra, the ancient Hindu treatise on architecture and sculpture. It is a walled city of seven rectangular blocks, with the Maharajah's palace located in the center amidst lovely gardens. In the evening, take an e-rickshaw ride through the old city bazaars and markets. See the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, a major Rajput landmark built in 1799. This five-story building in the old city is a pink sandstone masterpiece with semi-octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows. The monument was originally conceived to enable ladies of the royal household to watch the city’s daily life and special events in absolute privacy.

It houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes, armory from the Mughal and Rajput eras, weaponry, and swords of different shapes and sizes, some with ornamental handles inlaid with enamel, embellished with jewels, and encased in magnificent scabbards. Drive past Moti-Doongri Palace, a privately owned hilltop fort built like a Scottish castle, to Ram Niwas Gardens and the architecturally impressive Albert Hall before returning to the hotel with the afternoon free for independent activities. In the late afternoon, take a walk in the walled city’s bazaars before going to the Birla Temple at dusk for the Aarti ceremony with an overnight stay at the hotel.
Vacation Day 12: Jaipur- Amber - Delhi - End of Tour (Thusday, November 6, 2025)
Late in the morning, at 11 a.m., we will visit the Fort of Amber, a superb example of Rajput architecture. Located high on a hill with large ramparts and a series of gates and cobbled paths,. The Fort’s construction started in 1592 by Raja Man Singh, the Rajput Commander of Akbar’s army. It was later extended and completed by Jai Singh. Laid out on four levels, the buildings inside are constructed of red sandstone and marble and include the Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) and the Sukh Niwas, which was “air-conditioned“ by making wind blow over a water cascade.Note: The approach to Amber is best on Elephant Back, but that can mean queuing up and a wait of more than an hour; we suggest taking Jeeps. Lunch at a local restaurant and continue north-east to Delhi, about 3 and a half hours to connect the flight home with rooms for washing and changing and dinner included at a hotel near the airport.

We continue to Bang Pa In, which was served as the summer palace for many Thai monarchs. This structure has a captivating collection of marvelous pavilions in a variety of Thai, Chinese, Italian and Victorian architectural styles.
Vacation Day 6 - Bangkok - Chiang Mai
Fly to Chiang Mai today, the capital of the north and rich with historical and cultural heritage. Chiang Mail has over 300 temples and we visit the most famous one on top of Doi Suthep Mountain, Wat Prathat Temple. The temple grounds offer a panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. Chiang Mai has been always known for the exquisite handicrafts made from hill tribe people’s traditional wares. Set off on a short drive to the villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottage industries including silk weaving, wood carving, silver ware and umbrellas making. On the way back to our hotel, we drive through the old city of Chiang Mai.
Tonight free time to visit the vibrant night market which is full of local treasures.
Vacation Day 7 - Chiang Mai - Chiang Dao Elephant Camp- Chiang Mai
Today we make our way through the scenic mountain backdrop to Chiang Dao Elephant Camp, which is 30 miles northwards of Chiang Mai. Visit the elephant camp set in a lush jungle area and watch the many elephants perform amazing feats of strength and skill at the command of the mahouts. The demonstration includes elephant bathing in the river, working in the jungle, dragging and pushing logs. Even see elephants playing basketball and painting. The highlight of the day is our exhilarating elephant trek through the jungle, past bamboo trees and hanging creepers.
Then relax as we board a short bamboo raft trip along the Mae Taeng River. Next we drive a few miles to a Padong "long neck" tribe village. The women of the tribe wear long brass coils around their neck which actually pushes the collarbone down, giving them the appearance of an extended neck. This tribe has come from Burma as refugees in recent years due to the persecution of the Burmese government. Spend some time in the village before we drive back to Chiang Mai.
Relax before tonight's dinner show at Kantok restaurant. Sit on the floor and eat native treats from little baskets and enjoy the traditional show
Vacation Day 8 - Chiang Mai - Pattaya
After a short flight back to Bangkok, we head to Pattaya, a city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast known for its beaches. A quiet fishing village as recently as the 1960s, it’s now lined with resort hotels, high-rise condos, shopping malls, cabaret bars and 24-hour clubs. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel, the Amari Garden before visiting the Sanctuary of Truth.
The Sanctuary of Truth, a gigantic wooden construction covering more than 34,444 square feet, was constructed according to ancient Thai ingenuity and every square inch of the building is covered with wooden carved sculptures. Within this complex, visitors will understand Ancient Life, Human Responsibility, Basic Thought, Cycle of living, Life Relationship with Universe and
Common Goal of Life toward Utopia.
Tonight go out in a group and check out Pattaya's famous Walking Street with different sorts of venues as you make your way along it. Starting from the Beach Road end, there are mostly restaurants, then go-go bars and beer bars, then nightclubs and live music bars. At about the halfway point is the famous Walking Street Tree (there’s only the one), around which you will find mostly ladyboy bars and clubs. Continuing towards Bali Hai Pier, you will see more tailors and gem shops as well as more hotels.
Vacation Day 9 - Pattaya - 3 Island Cruise
Today we enjoy three interesting islands off the coast of Pattaya. The island of Koh Pai features several undisturbed natural beaches with a variety of coral clusters and ocean habitats for the avid snorkelers.
Koh Rin is another uninhabited island, used by the Royal Thai Navy as a test and exercise grounds. The island encompasses some of Thailand’s most spectacular shallow coral reef formations. Once again, snorkelling enthusiasts are amply catered for, whilst fishing rods and bait are provided for the eager fisherman.
Next stop on the tour is the island of Koh Ped literally translated as Duck Island, although there is not a duck in sight there are monkeys everywhere. Koh Ped or perhaps more appropriate, Koh Ling (Ling meaning monkey) has a resident population of Thai Samae monkeys, but once again no human inhabitants. The monkeys over population of the island a natural, self sustaining food source is no longer present on Koh Ped; as such they are solely reliant on the tour boats as a source of food at present, whilst conservation strategies are being discussed.
Tonight enjoy our Farewell Dinner before partying the night away.
Vacation Day 10 - Pattaya - Bangkok
Sleep late or enjoy a morning on the beach before we drive back to Bangkok. After checking into our Bangkok hotel free time to buy that last minute souvenir, have a Thai massage or a wonderful meal.

The "Adventure" tag applies not only to the fun, freedom and excitement of being out on the ocean on your own yacht, but also to the get-involved approach, where everyone is part of a real "crew" - not just passengers to be ferried about according to some strict itinerary, or the whim of the captain.
There's no obligation to pull on ropes if you don't want to - but if you'd like to learn more about sailing, they would love to teach you. For already experienced sailors - hey, great ! - come take the helm and tweak the sails as much as you like ! Though they have provisional itineraries, they are always changeable according to the preferences of the group - and of course, the whims of the wind gods ! The singles trips are as flexible and laid-back as possible; as fun and hedonistic as the islands themselves.
Everything on board is included.. These are small sailing yachts - 8 singles capacity - usually a few yachts will sail together.
Thailand to All the ingredients one could ever ask from a tropical sailing vacation... stunningly beautiful scenery, a multitude of uncrowded anchorages; underwater wonderlands of coral and multicoloured fish; fun nightlife if you want it, peace and tranquilty if not.
This trip is best suited for those who want to set sail for discovery, heritage and historical sightseeing, the best of nature and deserted beaches, on-deck sea-view unwinding and the friendly atmosphere of a small ship cruise.
Daytime temps in early & late season (May, Oct) would be around mid 60sC; midsummer max temperatures would be around mid/high 80s. The humidity is very low, so it rarely feels TOO hot, even in Aug (though it is a good plan to stay out of cities and be out on the water then!) Another chance to experience two countries in one trip - we'll be starting in Turkey and exploring her lovely Turquoise Coast for the first week... then sailing north to our favorite little Greek islands for the second week of adventures!
The Zante Cruise itinerary is subject to change dependent on weather conditions, difficulties at docking or unforeseen circumstances. This decision will be made solely at your captain’s discretion, based on the safety of the group and the ship. Travel insurance is highly recommended before departing for a Greece sailing trip.
