Amalfi Coast Singles Vacation Itinerary
Vacation Day 1 - Rome, Italy
On arrival at the Rome airport (remember you are flying home from Naples NAP), take the provided shuttle to the group's hotel. To give everyone a chance to arrive, no activities are planned, but optional tours will be available. Our Italy vacation will begin at 7:00pm with a meet and greet and a walk to a local restaurant.
Vacation Day 2 - Rome
See Rome on the hop-on hop-off open-top double decker bus! This morning enjoy a full 360 degree panoramic view as we drive around Rome. We will hop off at the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps for some coin tossing and stair climbing.
This afternoon is free to hop on and off at any of the stops and spend as much time as you like at each attraction. Visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum Rome or take a tour of the Vatican. With bus departures all day, and numerous stops, you'll see the highlights and experience it all.
Tonight enjoy our Welcome dinner at a local Italian restaurant.
Vacation Day 3 - Rome to AmalfiMorning departure from Rome. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as we get our first glimpse of the Amalfi coast. The Amalfi Coast offers one of the world's great drives so get your cameras ready. The winding cliff top road offers breathtaking panoramic views at every turn. You'll gain respect for the Italian engineers who built the road and even more respect for our bus driver. As you catch your breath, notice the colors of the Mediterranean, a sheer 500-foot drop below.
Set in a wide cleft in the cliffs, Amalfi is the largest town and perhaps the highlight of the coast. Amalfi was an independent republic during Byzantine times and one of the great naval powers, with a population of some 70,000. There is still the odd remnant of Amalfi's past glories around today, and the town has a quaint attractiveness with it's whitewashed courtyards and alleys that are fun to wander through.
Spend the afternoon visiting the magic town of Amalfi, its history, art and culture. Amalfi, is a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring St. Andrea’s Cathedral, whose 57 steps will reward you with a great workout and a great view. The city is also home to the Museo della Carta, which introduces you to the art of paper making for which Amalfi is known. Amalfi was the first maritime republic of Italy and in the Civic Museum the Tabula Amalfitana, the first navigational code in history has been preserved.
Vacation Day 4 - Ravello
A cooking course is a truly unique experience. To travel and visit new countries also means to know the tastes and flavors. Our mid-morning lesson will consist of traditional Neapolitan cuisine with an emphasis on Amalfi recipes. This is a "demonstration" cooking course where you will learn about the natural ingredients used, which are fresh picked the very same morning of each class. Enjoy wine with your lunch that you helped prepare.
A slow uphill drive along a very narrow road passing several wineries and olive factories, leads to Ravello and one of the most splendid views of the entire coast. Perched on top of the mountain cliff situated above Amalfi and Minori. Ravello, famous for its breath-taking views, natural beauty and ancient monuments are presented at their best in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo (where our tour begins). In high season, these gardens are rich in sweet secants of blooming flowers, shadows of flora and perfume of lemons. Apart from the main cathedral, also situated in the square, and a history museum constructed in the basement of the cathedral, there are many other churches to visit given that there used to be a total of 13 churches in the village.
After this wonderful experience we return to Amalfi for the night. Let's check out Amalfi at night and have a nice dinner.
Vacation Day 5 - Amalfi
Enjoy a day in Amalfi, relax at the beach, walk around the town or do some sightseeing. Our hotel is situated in the centre of Amalfi and the Amalfi Coast. Saint Andrew's Cathedral, the town and the port, from which you can take a boat or the hydrofoil, are all in walking distance from the hotel.
Vacation Day 6 - Amalfi Coast - Capri
Our full-day boat excursion begins when we depart Amalfi and steer towards the nearby seaside towns of Maiori and Minori. Just beyond Maoiri is the marine cave called Pandora's Grotto, experience this beautiful natural wonder. Visit the nearby Marmorata Falls and view the majestic Ravello, the famous village of music, which is seated high on a cliff face towering over Amalfi.
Sail along to the pristine enclave of Santa Croce and the Lover's Arch and onward to Conca Dei Marini where you can visit the Grotta Dello Smeraldo or the Emerald Grotto. Then you will sail by the Furore Fjord, cruise along the twin-mountain town of Praiano, continue towards the village of Positano, before steering out to sea to visit the mythical islands of Li Galli. The Amalfi Coast officially ends and the Sorrento Coast begins as we near Capri at Punta Campanella. Circle the island and visit the famous Blue Grotto (entrance optional), the Faraglioni rock formation and the White and Green Grottos before docking in Capri.
Enjoy a few hours on the beautiful island of Capri, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a coastal village inhabited by fishermen and sailors; explore marine caves; walk through masses of sheer rock and peer over precipices which drop dramatically into the sea; stroll through olive groves and orchards of lemon and orange trees; have lunch or browse through the boutiques, elegant hotels, artists studios, churches, and the remains of Roman villas. On the way back to Amalfi, stop for a swim in a picturesque location where it is possible to dive straight off the boat. Swim in some of the most beautiful waters of the Mediterranean, where the water is a deep blue color yet clear enough to see many feet below.
Vacation Day 7 - Pompeii - Sorrento - PositanoStep back in time as we walk through the ancient city of Pompeii. A thrilling archaeological journey unfolds as we explore the ancient ruins which were buried in ashes after Mount Vesuvius erupted almost 2000 years ago. Discover the everyday life of Rome's Imperial age at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, and imagine the panic felt by the people in those last few minutes before the city was buried.
After leaving Pompeii travel the coastal road to its furthest point to Sorrento. Spectacular views of the entire bay of Naples and the Island of Capri are revealed as the Amalfi coast road emerges from over the mountain cliff. Sorrento stands on a terrace of tuff and is a city full of vegetation (its lemon trees are very famous). The city is said to originate from ancient Greece, but the old town shows a roman origin.
Positano is a province of Salerno and has been a vacation destination since the ancient Roman times. The town is built in a charming fashion on terraces on the steep rocks of the Monte Comune, and around a small, well-protected bay. The church of Santa Maria Assunta features a dome made of majolica tiles as well as a 13th Byzantine century icon of a black Madonna. Enjoy your last evening in Amalfi.
Vacation Day 8 - Amalfi - NaplesEnjoy your last views of the Amalfi Coast when we travel to the hamlets of Atrani, Majori and Minori. Atrani is an isolated fishing village, away from the noise and bustle; it is also the smallest town in the Southern Italy. The distinctive white houses whose balconies are overflowing with flowers are built on the slopes of the surrounding mountains among the lemon orchards and reach down to the sea. Maiori lies at the head of the Tramonti valley and is said to have been founded by the Etruscan Lucumone Rehginna, whose name was given to both the stream that divides the town (Reghinna Major) and the main road (Corso Reghinna).
After a stop for lunch in a restaurant along the coast, visit the town of ceramic… Vietri is a delightful town on a terrace overlooking the sea and is famous for its highly colorful ceramics that decorate most of the civic buildings and the facade of the Villa Guariglia… Villa Guariglia is an elegant and sumptuous villa located in Raito, a hamlet of Vietri sul Mare. Everything in the Villa is exactly the same as it has been left by the Ambassador Raffaele Guariglia: the pictures in the living room, the collection of painted and decorated mother of pearl fans (over 100), the silverware, porcelain, weapons and a rich library, composed by over 4000 books, some of which were written by the Ambassador.
Onto Naples for an overview of the city and to check into our hotel. Tonight enjoy our Farewell Dinner!
Vacation Day 9 - Depart Home
Say Arrivederci to all your new friends as your Southern Italy vacation ends and you are transferred to the Naples airport for your return flight home.

Arrive at the Bejing airport (remember you are flying home from Shanghai) where you will be met and transferred to our hotel. Meet and greet your tour leader at 7:00pm and go for an optional dinner and the beginning of a wonderful vacation.
Day 2 - Monday: Beijing
Walking shoes today are needed as we explore the fascinating Forbidden City. Magnificent marble courtyards, huge halls, gilded temples and ornate pavilions are a masterpiece of architectural history. The Forbidden City (also known officially as the Imperial Palace Museum) was commissioned by the third Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The palace was built between 1406 and 1420, but was burnt down, rebuilt, sacked and renovated countless times. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction. The total area of the complex is 183 acres, so it takes quite a while to walk through.
Walk in the footsteps of Emperors in Tiananmen Square; gaze across the vast space to the Great Hall of the People and stand before the massive Tiananmen (Heavenly Peace) Gate.
Climb aboard a rickshaw for a fascinating tour of Beijing’s old Hutong district. Ride along an intricate maze of narrow alleys, old houses and hidden courtyards. You can find an old man walking his bird, a housewife bargaining with the vegetable market and children frolicking in a kindergarten. It is a true moment in Beijing daily life.
Toniight we eat Peking Duck at our Welcome Dinner
Day 3 - Tuesday: Beijing - Great Wall of China
Another Highlight Day - the Great Wall of China! We drive north to the mountains outside Bejing to stroll the ramparts of China’s famed Great Wall at Mutianyu. Among the orchards and pines the Great Wall was built and reconstructed to keep out the Normadic tribes to the North. Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is linked to the Gu Bei Kou section on the east and the Badaling section on the west. It was used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs.
Why walk up when we can take a cable car. There are two cable cars that will take us to the top of Mutianyu Great Wall. At Cable One stop you can take a walk down to the lower car, or up as high as you can to the point where the Wall renovation has stopped. Cable Two will take us up to the top of the Wall, to the East and at a lower elevation than the first. The platforms in this area offer a wonderful view of the wall. as well as access to Zheng Guan Tai gate which is the most famous and most striking of the Mutainyu gates.
After lunch we visit the Summer Palace with its beautiful ornamental plantings, languid willows and painted pavilions surrounding a scenic lake. Located in a northwest suburb of Beijing, the Summer Palace was originally a royal garden and a temporary dwelling palace for emperors of Qing Dynasty, It’s hardly surprising that, during the hot Beijing summers, the Imperial Family preferred the beautiful gardens and airy pavilions of the Summer Palace to the walled-in Forbidden City.
Tonight after dinner enjoy the Kungfu show at Red Theatre. The story of a young boy who dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master. On the road to enlightenment he encounters many difficulties and temptations.
Day 4 - Wednesday: Beijing
This morning we visit Beijing Olympic Green and have a photo opportunity at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube.

The zoo is home to around 450 different species and has a population of some 5,000 animals.

It was used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors, and is one of the largest Beijing royal altars to Heaven, Earth, the Sun, the Moon and other deities or symbolic forces of Nature.
Then we stop at the Pearl Market, a 5 floor mega-market with vendors selling everything from Pearls to electronics. Just remember to haggle.
Day 5 - Thursday: Beijing-Xi’an
After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our flight to Xi’an. Upon landing we are met and transferred to our hotel.
Wear comfortable walking shoes to visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum: The history of Shaanxi is said to be the history of China, and this museum is quite simply one of the nation's best. Four major galleries in large, Tang-style buildings house a vast and impressive collection of Chinese artifacts, beautifully displayed. Most of the item labels are in English, although some other information on the exhibitions is not, but your guide can help here.
Day 6 - Friday: Xi’an - Terra Cotta Warriors
A highlight of our tour is the remarkable archaeological site where the Terracotta Warriors, who guarded the tomb of China’s great unifier and first emperor Qinshuang, was discovered. Found by local farmers, so far over 700 warriors, 100 chariots, and 400 horses have been excavated from four pits.
What makes the Terracotta warriors in Xi'an so amazing is that each one is life size and unique. Each soldier was armed with a real bronze weapon and face, clothing and hairstyles had individual characteristics. . The charioteers had fully functional wooden chariots pulled by terracotta horses. Archers, spearmen, infantry, and generals have been excavated. When new, each soldier was covered with paint and had the appearance of a real living man.
Situated at the northern foot of Mt. Lishan in Lintong County, 18.6 miles from Xian City, Huaqing Hot Spring is famed for both its dainty spring scenery and the romantic love story of Emperor Xuanzong (685-762) and his concubine Yang Guifei in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Its long history and location among the wonderful landscapes of Xian should entice any visitor to visit and bathe in this hot spring.
Day 7 - Saturday: Xi’an
Today we explore the city of Xi'an. The Small Wild Goose Pagoda, located inside Jianfu Temple, is an important Buddhist site, dating back to the Tang Dynasty, 1300 years ago.The pagoda is a symbol of Chang'an (Constant Peace) city. Xi'an was called Chang'an until the Ming Dynasty when Beijing became the capital of China.
The walls, ramparts, gates and watchtowers form one of the oldest and most complete city defenses still around. Built in the 13th century on the foundations of the original Tang Forbidden City surrounding the city centre.
The Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower mark the center of the ancient capital. The wooden Bell Tower, which is the largest and best-preserved of its kind in China, is 118 feet high and stands on a brick base 116.4 feet long and 28.2 feet high on each side. The Drum Tower is located northwest of the Bell Tower. Both are called the 'sister buildings' or 'morning bell and dark drum'.
Then there will be time for the Market, a large shopping district made up of small lanes and alleys. The buildings are built in the architectural style of the Qing dynasty, and are quite colorful. Many vendors and peddlers set up booths along the narrow streets to sell local crafts and foods. There are also many tea houses where you can relax, have a cup of tea, and people watch.

Buenos Aires, Argentina Highlights Singles Vacation Itinerary
Vacation Day 1 : Arrive Buenos Aires, Argentina
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and transferred to our centrally located hotel, the Novotel Buenos Aires Hotel. Free time to relax before we start our trip around this wonderful city. Tonight meet your group leader and join the other singles for an optional dinner.
Vacation Day 2: Buenos AiresToday we explore Buenos Aires on our full Day tour of the city. Soaked in culture, the city is a giant living, breathing museum showcasing a vibrant, and often volatile, blend of European and Latin American influences. Today we will visit the famous Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House), the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule). At the other end of Avenida de Mayo you find the Congress building.
We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, an imposing Neo-classical building and Argentina´s main catholic building. The mausoleum of General San Martin is located inside, and Pope Francis celebrated religious services here when he was Cardinal of Buenos Aires. Our next stop is La Boca, Buenos Aires's most colorful and picturesque area famous for the Boca Stadium and Caminito Street. After driving by the stadium enjoy a walking tour and lunch break at Caminito street. Located on what used to be the city’s biggest port, immigrants set up shops, worked the docks and built homes from the scrap material leftover from ship-building. You’ll see this in the haphazard shanty houses that still line the streets here, made from sheet metal and wooden planks; in addition, nearly all of them are painted in very bright colors. The area is now thriving with peddlers selling art, buskers playing music and stalls offering trinkets of every variety.
San Telmo, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods and our next stop, boasts a vibrant tango and arts scene. The area still maintains much of its original architecture, historic mansions and cobbled streets. Its antiques markets, candle street lighting (known as farolas), cobblestones, and old buildings, all add to the unique atmosphere. In fact, we will visit an 1830 old mansion with an ancient Zanjón (ravine) to take a fascinating underground trip into the origins of the city. Tour through the archaeological maze of centuries-old tunnels and ruins, dating back to Buenos Aires’ early foundations. Explore the subterranean waterways and learn about the immigrant families who lived in the house after the wealthy owners departed.
While visiting Buenos Aires, watching a tango show should be on everyone's bucket list. Originally from the poorer districts and only danced by men, the music included flutes, violins, and guitars. Later on, the flutes were replaced by the "bandoneón" (a type of accordion), which gave tango its distinctive flair. Tonight we will head to one of the city’s tango houses, indulge in exquisite food, and enjoy a live tango show.
Vacation Day 3: Buenos Aires - New Years EveToday we head north and visit La Recoleta, one of the Buenos Aires's most glamorous neighborhoods. Along Alvear Avenue, see countless upscale stores, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. The Recoleta Cultural Center, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the Palais de Glace are an important part of Buenos Aires’ cultural activities. We will drive by many beautiful parks, and see the famous Floralis Generica at the United Nations Park, and the Libertador and Figueroa Alcorta Avenues.
Visit the Recoleta Cemetery, founded in 1822, one of the most prominent cemeteries in the world. The most celebrated Argentineans, including Eva Peron and her family, are buried at this elaborate cemetery, where mausoleums replicate chapels, pyramids and Greek temples. Appreciate the ornate mausoleums, sculptures, and vaults made by famous local and international artists.
After our tour of the Cemetery, enjoy free time to visit one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: Palermo Soho and Palermo Hollywood. Stroll around the streets filled with designer boutiques, fashionable cafes, and trendy restaurants.
Then it's time to go back to the hotel and get ready for a fun, exciting New Year's Evening. Starting with a wonderful dinner at a local Argentian restaurant near Puerto Madero. Then we'll immerse ourselves in the Buenos Aires New Year spirit at Puerto Madero. We'll join the crowd as they countdown to midnight and enjoy the unobstructed view of the fireworks.
Vacation Day 4: Buenos Aires - Iguazu FallsAfter breakfast we transfer to the domestic airport for our flight to Iguazu. At the border conjunctions of Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil, Puerto Iguazú is the entry gate to the imposing falls. Upon arrival in Puerto Iguazu Airport (IGR) Argentina, we will be met at the airport and transferred to the group's hotel, Mercure Iguazu Hotel Iru located at the heart of the Iryapú Jungle. Enjoy the pool and have dinner at the hotel's restaurant as tomorrow is a busy day.
Vacation Day 5: Iguazu Falls - Argentine Falls Tour & The Great AdventureThe views are amazing on our full day tour of Iguazu Waterfalls on the Argentina side. The 200,000 year old falls span across the border of three countries and is known to pour over 400,000 gallons of water per second onto the rocks below! Today we explore three tiers of Iguazu to see the falls from different vantage points. The lower walk leads to the base of the falls where the intense crash of the falls releases a thick mist into the air. The upper path leads to incredible panoramic views of the falls.
After our walk, we take a short ride on a train to the footbridge over Devil's Throat, the largest of about 275 waterfalls making up Iguazu Falls. and the border between Brazil and Argentina. The feeling of the magnitude and strength of the water falling is overwhelming and marvel as the water rushes down into the river below and creates clouds of mist and endless rainbows.
Get your cameras ready because a memorable experience awaits, as we take the Iguazu Great Adventure. We start by entering the jungle by specialty truck and during our three mile ride our guide introduces us to the local nature. Then we board our boat to sail the Lower Iguazu River heading towards the waterfall and enjoying plentiful rapids on the way. Upon reaching the Tres Mosqueteros Fall, view both the Argentine and Brazilian Falls crowned by the view Devil’s Throat. Then the most exciting point comes when facing the incomparable San Martín waterfall, the second in size and the biggest any boat may face.
Vacation Day 6: Iguazu Falls - Brazilian SideAfter breakfast we drive through the Iguazu National Park until we reach the Brazilian side of the falls. From here, we walk along the paths to appreciate the lush vegetation, butterflies, and cascades. Stroll along the 1 mile path that leads us to an amazing panoramic view of the Devil’s Throat. From here, we can appreciate the incredible scene that includes other iconic sites in Argentina like the Two Sisters and Bozzeti waterfalls, the Superior Circuit, and San Martin Island,
where the movie “The Mission” was filmed.
The Bird Park is located just before the Brazilian National Park entrance and combines ecological tourism and preservation. The sanctuary is home to over 500 species of birds and aims to rehabilitate and release them back into nature. Walk along the paths in the subtropical forest and keep your eyes open for butterflies, alligators, snakes, and monkeys. Get up close and personal with different birds, take photos, and learn about the park’s mission to raise awareness and protect native species and ecosystems.
Day 7: Iguazu Falls - Buenos Aires
After breakfast, relax at the hotel until time to leave for the airport. We leave the amazing Iguazu Falls behind and fly back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival we will transfer back to the Novotel to re-check-in. Once back at hotel the rest of the day is yours to enjoy as you wish.
Day 8: Buenos Aires - Gauchos DayThe Pampas (lowlands) are waiting for us to spend a full day at Estancia Santa Susana. Escape the bustling streets of the city and discover the traditional way of life in the Argentine countryside. Meet the friendly gauchos, talented wranglers and horsemen similar to cowboys of the American West. Estancia Santa Susana is a 2,965 acre ranch located in the district of Campana, near “Los Cardales” town.
Upon arrival, be greeted with two Argentine specialties, piping hot empanadas and wine. After a tour of the grounds by carriage or on horseback, including a stop at the Spanish-colonial house which now contains a museum, guests are treated to a parrillada, an Argentine-style barbecue that remains a popular weekend tradition even among modern Porteños. Tango dancers and folk singers entertain during the meat-centric lunch. Afterwards, enjoy a guided visit to the Spanish-colonial style “casco” and to the authentic museum. If you want, take a horseback ride to enjoy the stunning landscapes the lands have to offer. End the tour with some typical activities like a regional game known as “carrera de sortijas”. Here, two teams on horsebacks try to pass a pin through a small ring as they hang from a wooden arch.
Vacation Day 9: Buenos Aires - Tigre RiverThis morning we drive along the Rio de la Plata to the charming northern suburb of San Isidro, home to an impressive cathedral and mansions built by the city’s old aristocratic families. Then we continue on to Tigre, where we embark on our 1 hour delta cruise. Relax on our catamaran as we float along the Paraná Delta and its channels, rivers, streams, and numerous islands, appreciating the lush vegetation. Float past stilted homes and learn how delta-dwellers access goods and services through a network of floating markets. See landmarks that line the waterways in the relaxed town of Tigre, including Sarmiento’s historic home and museum. After our cruise, relax as we travel back to Buenos Aires.
Tonight, enjoy an introduction to the best of Argentina’s cuisine and culture, beginning with appetizers and wine. Then we get to create our own empanada, choose the filling and learn the “repulge” technique to make it. Learn the most important Argentinean hand gestures before we get to enjoy what many claim to be the best steak in Argentina. A steak that goes through a unique 24-hour preparation method. Try different Malbec wines from boutique wineries
in Mendoza as well as other typical food like cuartirolo cheese with dulce de batata (made with sweet potato) and dulce de madera (Argentina is the only country in the world where a special kind of wood can be eaten). For desert make your own alfajores, Argentina’s national sweet, that combines biscuits, dulce de leche, melted chocolate, and coconut shavings. End our gastronomic experience with a lesson on the history and etiquette of “mate”, the country’s national tea. Learn how to prepare it from scratch and share it among yourselves.
Vacation Day 10: Depart for home
Our tour ends after breakfast (if you can still put another bite into your mouth..). You will be transferred to the Buenos Aires airport according to your flight schedules. Say goodbye to all your new friends and the end of another wonderful New Year's singles vacation.

Colorado Adventure Singles Weekend Itinerary

Vacation Day 2: Grand Junction, Co - Glenwood Springs
After our fresh cooked buffet breakfast we transfer to the Grand Junction train station for our 10:23 a.m. train to Glenwood Springs. Enjoy the scenery as we travel onboard the California Zephyr for a 1 hour and 41 minute ride. Upon arrival in Glenwood Springs, we transfer to the Hampton Inn to check-in and drop off our luggge.
Since Doc Holliday’s Saloon is a “must see” in downtown Glenwood Springs, we will stop there for lunch. The 20 foot pistol-shaped neon sign lights the way into the old west museum-style bar. Doc Holliday’s features a beautifully restored walnut back-bar, historic photos and a potbelly stove.
Let's walk off lunch with a half-mile hike up the moderately steep trail to Linwood Cemetery where Glenwood’s pioneer settlers are buried. Although his exact whereabouts are a mystery, Doc's memorial marker is situated overlooking Glenwood Springs. (Because he was penniless at his passing, he was likely buried in “Potter’s Field”).
Time to relax at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, home of the world’s largest mineral hot springs pool and Spa of the Rockies. This historic thermal spring water has been drawing visitors from all over the world since 1888. Soaking in or “taking the waters” is a time-honored healing tradition and one that is still recommended as a remedy for a variety of ailments. In fact, members of the nomadic Ute tribe were the earliest known people to soak in the healing hot springs which retains the original Ute language name “Yampah,” which translates to “Big Medicine.”
After a stop for dinner we head back to our hotel for a good night's rest.
Vacation Day 3: Full Day - Whitewater RaftingOf all the ways to spend the day, few are better than spending them on the water. Prior rafting experience is not required. Our group will receive a detailed safety talk before getting on the river and every person will be issued a Personal Flotation Device better known as a life jacket.
Our rafting starts out by heading up river about 9 miles to the Shoshone Rapids in Glenwood Canyon on the Colorado River. We get off to an exciting start as we navigate the class III-IV Shoshone rapids including The Wall, Tombstone, Man Eater, Superstition, and many more. The river gradually begins to slow down and our guide will talk about the history of Glenwood Canyon and the River. From there, we'll paddle our way through Glenwood Canyon before stopping for lunch at our private picnic area in Glenwood Springs. Then it's time to hop back in the boats for a relaxing float down the Colorado River to enjoy the scenery, though don't worry if you're not interested in relaxing. We'll break out the inflatable kayaks for those of you looking to for more adventure and get a bit more up close and personal with the river. Many rafters think the kayaks are even more fun than the bigger rapids upstream!
Vacation Day 4: Glenwood Adventure ParkAfter breakfast we take adventure to new heights as we board a scenic Gondola Ride to the top of Iron Mountain. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, a Western-themed mountain-top park. At America’s only mountain-top theme park, we’ll experience rides that quite literally take thrills to new heights. Glenwood Caverns is situated at an elevation of 7,160 feet above sea level. Not only will the thrill rides have you clinging to the edge of your seat and screaming with delight, but with the exception of the Haunted Mine Drop—the world’s first underground drop ride—every ride at
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park also showcases stunning panoramic Colorado views. The thrill rides include the Glenwood Canyon Flyer, Soaring Eagle Zip Ride, Cliffhanger Roller Coaster, Alpine Coaster and the Giant Canyon Swing.
The Historic Fairy Cave Tour is a 40 minute guided walking tour appropriate for most fitness levels. Stroll along a quarter-mile-long underground narrow, winding passages, to natural water features and includes a stop at Exclamation Point—a viewing balcony with magnificent panoramas. On the King’s Row Tour journey deep into the mountain on a well-lit boardwalk with handrails to the most highly decorated cave room in Colorado! Enter via an airlock tunnel and emerge into an enormous cave room so big it is named The Barn. From there, be prepared for a little stair climbing workout—there are 120 stairs, with spacious platforms for viewing and resting. The staircase descends to King’s row, after which visitors climb back up.
We will round up the whole gang for a new-fangled Old West shoot-out using the latest in wireless laser technology before we head back to our hotel. Since the Park is open until 9pm, we will change and head back up the mountain for dinner and entertainment.
Vacation Day 5: Nature tour on either ebikes or jeeps - Farewell Dinner
Time to do a little sightseeing and nature appreciation. Choose your mode of transportation this morning by selecting either an offroad jeep tour or a leisurely ride on ebikes.
Travel back in time by exploring the 5500 square mile Bair Ranch, one of the oldest family owned and operated working ranches in Colorado. You can relax while your knowledgeable local guide shares his love of the majestic mountains, Glenwood Canyon and the Colorado River while he talks about the geography and history of the area - while admiring the spectacular wildflowers and views of Mr. Sopris in the distance. Or you may choose to spend the morning cruising around the Glenwood Springs area on ebikes.
Within the city limits of Glenwood Springs, you can access two of the most spectacular paved bike trails in the state of Colorado: the Glenwood Canyon Trail east of town that parallels the Colorado River, and the Rio Grand Trail south of town that parallels the Roaring Fork River and heads towards Aspen. The terrain and altitude in Glenwood can be challenging, even for the most fit rider but E-bikes change the equation and makes bicycling in the Roaring Fork Valley fun and exciting for anyone who can ride a bike. After the morning of activity the afternoon is free to shop, explore or visit one of the Hot Springs.
Tonight we end our adventure weekend with a Farewell Dinner at one of the many local restaurants.
Vacation Day 6: Glenwood Springs to Grand Junction

US and citizens of the European Union do not need visas to visit Canada. If you are visiting from another country you can check the Canada Immigration website. All visitors need a valid passport.
Canadian currency is counted in dollars and cents, just like in the U.S. There are also one and two-dollar coins. Dollar coins are bronze-plated coins and bear the picture of a loon. Paper currency begins with $5 bills.
Currently, the U.S. dollar is pretty equal with the Canadian dollar. It is recommended that you use Canadian money during your vacation and to change your money at a bank or at a Currency Exchange Center.
Banks are normally open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and charge a fee of 3 to $6 for non-client transactions. Currency Exchange Centers are usually open daily from morning to evening and charge as little as $1.
Niagara Falls is in the Eastern time zone, operating three hours ahead of Pacific Standard time.
Electrical connections in Canada are 110 and 120 volts AC (60 cycle), and the outlets take the same two-prong plugs found in the United States
Peak tourist season for Niagara Falls is May to September when the days are long and warm and the average high temperature is 26°C (79°F) and the low is 15°C (59°F). The coldest months are November through March, when the average temperature is between -6°C and 4°C (21°F and 39°F).
Even on the sunniest days, when you get close to the falls, you can get quite wet from the mist if the wind is blowing your way. Be prepared to wear rain gear or be prepared to change into dry clothing.
You will want to protect your camera from the mist of The Falls, so bring a plastic bag big enough to cover your entire camera. You can also use the plastic bag to shield the camera while you take photos. Carry along some soft dry cloths to wipe away water drops on the lens.
Comfortable sturdy shoes, tennis shoes with plenty of tread, sandals – we will be doing a lot of walking. Make sure you bring an extra pair of shoes because yours WILL get wet. You will appreciate the dry shoes to go out in after a tour involving massive amounts of water!
Clothes you won't mind getting wet - There are a few attractions that will leave you soaked, having clothes suited for a wet environment is handy.
Plastic bags (zip lock bags and a larger trash bag) to store wet things.

Enjoy exquisite cuisine prepared by the cruise master chefs, premium cocktails and live Hawaiian entertainment for the most memorable experience in Hawaii.
Vacation Day 3 - Tuesday: Pearl Harbor & Historical City TourThe five hour Pearl Harbor & Honolulu City Tour is one of Oahu's most popular sightseeing experiences and gives us a special look at Honolulu's history. We will travel first to historic Pearl Harbor, where we will have time to tour the renovated Pearl Harbor Memorial Museum and Visitor Center, the hub for all four Pearl Harbor historic sites: WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument (USS Arizona Memorial), USS Bowfin Submarine Museum, USS Missouri Memorial, and the Pacific Aviation Museum.
After our visit, we are off on a fully narrated tour of Honolulu city highlights. We will pass Punchbowl Crater, part of an extinct volcano and now home to the National Cemetery of the Pacific. Downtown see the state capitol and Washington Place, former home of Hawaiian royalty and Hawaii's governors.
A stop at the King Kamehameha statue allows time to take photos. View Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on American soil, and Kawaiahao Church, where services are still held in the native Hawaiian language. Our tour winds up with a drive through Chinatown before returning to our resort in the early afternoon.
Tonight we will have dinner (not included) at one of the resort's restaurants. Then listen to music at one of the many lounges or bars.

Today is the day to lie back and work on your tan and/or partake in one of the resort activities. Enjoy an array of fun-filled activities at the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, a spectacular five-acre salt-water lagoon featuring a state-of-the-art water circulation system. The resort's sparkling lagoon is the perfect place to lounge on a beach chair (included), take a tranquil swim, ride an aqua-cycle, try stand-up paddle yoga, or experience swimming as a Mermaid.

Tonight we will take a walk outside the resort to a local restaurant for shopping, exploring and dining.
Vacation Day 5 - Thursday: Polynesian Cultural Center - Ali’i Luau - HA: Breath of Life" Evening Show
Today we travel thirty two miles from Waikiki to the Polynesian Cultural Center, a lush retreat into the past, capturing the music, dance, and culture of six Pacific island nations: Fiji, Tonga, Tahiti, Hawaii, New Zealand, and Samoa. Experience thousands of years of cultural traditions in these villages, brought to life by native Pacific islanders. Enjoy an informative orientation at each village with hands-on cultural activities.
In the Hawaiian Village, we get to share the beauty of the islands through dance and song while hula lessons are provided throughout the day. We can also try a few ancient Hawaiian games, taste freshly prepared poi or discover the art of lauhala weaving.
Fijian warriors welcome us while the women entertain with traditional dance in the Fijian Village. Learn how to make coconut oil and gaze up at the awe inspiring 6 story temple.
In the village of Samoa, enjoy Samoan song and dance and watch as a young warrior climbs a 40-foot coconut tree-in his bare feet.
A formal welcome to the New Zealand village includes the powerful Maori war-dance: the Haka. Learn ancient games of skill still taught to Maori school children, watch artisans carve deadly looking weapons, discover interesting cooking and food preservation methods.
At the Tonga village, we can paddle a native-style outrigger canoe used centuries ago, play the Tongan shuffleboard gam, test our skills throwing spears and learn how to dance sitting down.
Don’t miss the special wedding ceremony at the Tonga village. Other experiences include sampling melt-in-your-mouth coconut bread, pole fishing and throwing a spear at a coconut.
The luau focuses on Hawaiian hula in terms of entertainment, and other Polynesian dances like Haka, Tahitian dance, and fire knife dance will be performed at the night show, “HA: Breath of Life”
Early evening at “Hale Aloha”, a venue specially made for a great Luau experience, “Ali’i luau”, or “royal luau”, is where we can watch Polynesian dance performances and fill our stomachs with all-you-can-eat Hawaiian/Polynesian food. The menu consist of a variety of Hawaiian dishes such as Kalua Pork, Hulihuli Chicken, Ahi (Tuna) Poke, and Poi,plus seasonal local fruit, salad bar, roasted pork and local fish at the carving station. The luau focuses on Hawaiian hula and other Polynesian dances like Haka, Tahitian dance, and fire knife dance will be performed at the night show, “HA: Breath of Life”.
After dinner, the dramatic show “Ha: Breath of Life” will captivate our imagination as we hear the drums, see native dances, and watch the journey of Mana as he grows from boy to warrior. Over a hundred performers from across the Pacific bring this ancient legend to life. Its pulsating tropical rhythms will carry us deep into our own island reverie.
Vacation Day - Friday: Beach Day or Waikiki Trolley - Diamond Head & Halona Blowhole - Duke's Barefoot Bar Our day starts mid-morning with a leisurely walk to the Waikiki Shopping Plaza where we board the Blue Line trolley for our fun morning out. Our first stop takes us to Diamond Head, one of the most iconic natural landmarks of Hawaii. Rising 760 feet with a 3,520-foot crater, this volcano is nothing short of breathtaking. Hiking Diamond Head might first appear to be a challenging all day climb, but these Oahu hiking trails can sometimes be deceiving, as it really only takes about 40 to 60 minutes to reach the summit of the Diamond Head hike. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of Honolulu, Waikiki Beach, the Pacific Ocean and more. The hike is ranked as “easy to moderate” in physical exertion, and offers unparalleled views of the coastline. Take note that while the climb itself requires little exertion, the staircases at the end can be challenging for those not in “peak” shape, and can leave you breathless…though the views at the top will prove worth the climb!
Traveling along Oahu’s spectacular southeast coastlin, through Kalanianaole Highway which is famous for its rugged cliffs and dramatic ocean scapes, we will arrive at the famous Halona Blowhole. The Blowhole was created thousands of years ago when molten lava tubes were formed from volcanic eruptions and overlooks some of the most violent waters in Hawai‘i. During the winter months, strong currents and big waves send waters rushing into the molten lava tubes below the lookout, sending geysers as high as 30 feet through the blowhole. The bigger the waves, the higher the geysers. We may also see whales breaching or spouting at the surface.
We will be back in time to enjoy the afternoon by the pool or beach.
Tonight we have our Farewell dinner at Duke's Barefoot Bar, an iconic establishment in Waikiki. Duke's Waikiki celebrates an atmosphere that encompasses surfing, the spirit of Hawaii, and live music on the beach. Even with the crowd, the music, the food, the drinks are all designed to draw you back to a simpler time when Duke was still riding the longboard.
Vacation Day 7 - Saturday: Depart Hawaii
This morning is your last chance to catch those final rays before its time to say Aloha to Waikiki and all your new travel friends. Make your way to the airport, according to your flight schedule as our singles vacation has come to an end.
